True that. I still have no idea what this means for the MWC, which I have to worry about since it affects my job and so on. Maybe this means BYU won't get invited now, or, it means they assume Missouri is gone and they want to add 4 teams total.

I'd bet on this. Mizzou to the SEC. TCU, BYU, and a pairing of either Houston, SMU, Louisville, Boise, or Air Force to the Big XII. Twelve teams equals stability and the rest of Big XII is desperately craving that. It also keeps Texas and OU around.

One would think Missouri wouldn't be this stupid, to do all this if they weren't 100% sure they were getting a SEC invite, but who knows.

No idea what Big 12 wants next. Only thing that's been said today is they don't want any more Texas schools. BYU brings different kinds of issues with them if they join a conference. And I'll tell you this ... if they wanted BYU, they would have been the first to be invited, not TCU.

I think mizzou stays. TCU and byu gets added. And the big 12 will scramble to add someone else to make 12. They need a champ game to remain legit.

Add 2 more Texas schools and more schools ends up getting smaller pieces of the same pie. Given all that Texas has done, I have a hard time understanding why they would all of a sudden want to give part of their revenue from their TV contracts to TCU and SMU. Its not like TCU or SMU will add markets not covered by Texas.

Didn't they say this last week or the week before or something too? But now they've added a Texas school. Bottom line is that the Big XII is in survival mode. If they decide to get a little too cutesy and elitest they'll find themselves completely dissolved.

If the Big 12 adds any other Texas school, it's going to be Houston, because that is the media market the league lost with Texas A&M taking off. There's no reason to go after SMU b/c you just got a foot in the door with the Dallas/Ft. Worth market by bringing in SMU.

Now, if Houston leaves CUSA, get ready for even more change.

Nobody wants West Virginia other than the Big East. They are the academic equivalent of a JUCO. Realignment is all about money and football but when the academics are as bad as WVU's are, you can't ignore it. University presidents have to at least look like they're concerned about academics in this.

Yeah, plus they don't bring anything in terms of media market. WVU is probably the worst off of ANY Big East or Big 12 team. They would be the last team picked up.

Word around here is that the Big 12 will add Louisville. Heard that BYU declined the Big 12 or could not work it out. Most are saying that Mizzou will go to the SEC within the next 10 days. Louisville, WVU, and Cincy will be added to the Big 12.
