kindle Fire

Post by steelcitychaos »

Our son likes to play his computer games and watch his cartoons on our laptop but when we go on trips he cant do either on a laptop and some people at work said that this is a good alternative for travel and portability. Does anyone have this or something similar for the kids to use?

my ex has a kindle and the 6 year old loves it

she also has her sisters old iphone so i thought the kindle would bore her but she loves reading

i cant say enough how much a parent with a kid less than 10 should be on the lookout for old iphones from friends and family who dont need theirs anymore..especially the old iphones. u just use them as ipod touch with movies/shows and apps with no monthly cost.

13, 11, and 7. The 11 year old reads, so we are hoping that he will use it for a reading device. But they all steal our iphones to play games too. We didn't buy it, it just kind of fell into our laps from a friend and a company xmas raffle. ;)

I was debating on this or the ipad2 for my wife, so glad I got the ipad2, fire's getting some bad reviews now that its been out a while. I would hold out, get another tablet if you can't afford an ipad

"Kindle Fire feels the heat
Early buyers of Amazon's tablet-like e-reader, the Kindle Fire, are beginning to find what many had feared: it's not really a tablet computer at all.

These early adopters are running into an experience that is often clunky, a touchscreen that isn't super responsive, a Web browser that struggles on many websites and head-scratching hardware omissions. (There are no volume buttons.)"
