NDL Live Broadcast Games
Can now add a live broadcast to each of your games through Justin.TV
with many coaches using Justin.tv to broadcast the games, I have added a way for other coaches to watch.
To Broadcast
1. go to your user settings (http://www.onlinedynasty.net/ndl2/userSettings.php) and update the field for justin.tv username
2. go to the game enter page like you are about to enter the game stats
3. click on the [ ADD LIVE BROADCAST THROUGH JUSTIN.TV ] link
4. for 3 hours, the link to the broadcast will show on the NDL2 site instead of the twitter feed, as well as a live broadcast and chat on the game preview page.
To View
1. You will see a LIVE NOW link instead of the twitter feed on the NDL2 site when a game is live
2. click on the team logos to the game you wish to watch
3. to chat during the game, you must login using a justin.tv username and password in the chat window to the right

mind blown
Re: NDL Live Broadcast Games
When I went to the ndl2 page and saw "Live Now - Bowling Green/Nebraska" it clearly signified to me the NDL has taken a step forward. Great work to Holmey and all who broadcast.
Re: NDL Live Broadcast Games

Unreal
Re: NDL Live Broadcast Games
this offseason im gonna run some blueprints over with u plus some money
. you have me thinking so much stuff my god Holmey.
Only like "tweak" would be, an "alert" so to speak on the ndl forums to let people know a live game is going? the forums are more viewed than ndl2. If that would be possible, thatd be insane.
example: to the right of the NDL2 website logo, if theres a game on, a red light blinks "Live" and then you see the 2 teams images, like on the Media page, and they can click on it and go. More people would see it.
Everyone wants spectator mode. Holmey's brain + justin tv + webcam = seasons we can remember!
also another great thing Holmey did was add a Jtv tag to recaps. Justin.tv saves every video so recaps can just be your game posted, and anyone can relive the game. and the commentary
haha

I've spent some time researching this the last few days, to see if I could begin showing my games. I'd say, in general, there are three ways to do this.
#1 is how NDLers are doing it right now. Using their phone or the eye on their PC or a separate eye camera. Obviously the video quality isn't too hot and there is lag, but hey, it's LIVE so that's sweet.
The next best option is utilizing a camcorder facing the TV, which supposedly improves the quality considerably and removes most of the lag. But it can't be just any camcorder. It has to have a "Firewire" input as Justin.tv doesn't utilize HDMI or USB connections for their live events. These types of camcorders are either hard to find or expensive. I'm thinking I'll be going this route and hope to close the deal with the wife hopefully agreeing, in the next 24-48 hours, fingers crossed.

Next and best option is something any of us can go see on justin.tv and ustream that involves a capture card, composite cables, and simply alot of shit I don't have knowledge about. Though it looks like you're right in the room!
There's no way I could convince the wife (especially right after x-mas and gifts for the kids, etc) to go this route. Much (well, alittle) easier to convince her that we need a HD camcorder for family videos....that I can use during my freetime, to show my poor video game playing skilz to a national audience.

Re: NDL Live Broadcast Games
kdog there are 2 ways
1. you spend $200 on a HD Recorder that takes a live feed (through cables) from your TV to your PC and stream it through Justin.tv
or
2. You guys a webcam, and position at the TV, get a good webcam for like $35 and the quality is fine. Broadcast (click a button on justin.tv)and itll load your webcam and you press start and its up.

Nick is this as easy as it sounds?
Re: NDL Live Broadcast Games
I just tried it out with a web cam and it looked incredibly choppy. Better than nothing but I dont like that.
Re: NDL Live Broadcast Games
its not as easy, it's easier. Have the webcam plugged in, and when you sign in to JTV top right it says "go live" or "broadcast" (im stoned i forgot, work with me).. anyways you click it, and then 5 options pop up, one is "web cam".. click. You accept them using your WC (webcam, fingers are tired)..,and it sets the WC up, and you point to the TV and when you're ready you press "Start" and it gives u a link and bam, you're live and if you got a mic it gets that, so if you're high and forget you're on the mic and start singing, they hear ya lolbuckeye76 wrote:nick wrote: 2.
