Just a quick verification for ya that I did read your post. Great speech. Some good points, alot of BULLSHIT, but great speech. It kept up the tradition of "don't bitch, cuz you'll just get ridiculed". And great stats. That just makes everything ALL okay. And most importantly, while all your boys have come to back you up, I've surprisingly already received multiple emails from league members who agree that things aren't too good around here either.....(even after your "everything's beautiful and no one has a reason to want more" speech). But believe it or not, they didn't want to respond to MY thoughts, because they thought they'd just get bashed by the leadership. Hmm, wonder why anyone would think that?

Me, trying to destroy this league?....that's the biggest line of bullshit. I want it to THRIVE and continue to be strong! I care more about this league than several of the higher ups, I'm confident of that. And I'm sure that I give much more of a shit about the people in this league (and wanting to provide them with the best online experience they can find, in a league atmosphere) then certain others. Oh, almost forgot, you needed something positive to be said about the league....we go back to the PEOPLE. There are GREAT PEOPLE in this league, no doubt about it.

I would if they didnt care. I think it';d be cool. People dont bitch as much as before and i dont have problems with anyone, plus i love writing up those weekly conference things, ive done 2 bowl projections and was in the midst of writing "who will finish undefeated" but it stalled.

I think it'd be fun. When I see a preview for a conference i get pumped for in conference talks and discussions, but then they die down in some conferences and it sucks.

i will say that conference commishes need to have some sort of requirement rather than just using the cop out statement "i'll be as active as you guys are" because i can't remember one conference where i was thinking, "Wow, i'm really glad i was in this conference" after a season. I know people are busy but players of the week and other things should be things the conf. commishes want to do rather than being requirements as most of them seem to think at this point in time. I know it's a big bonus on season points but it seems crazy to me that these guys get these bonuses from counting games played, recaps written and stats entered when anyone could do this.

...if anything needs to be fixed it's that whole buddy-buddy process and i know i'm not the only one who thinks this. 6 topics, not including polls, is the most that a conference commisioner has made in any of the conferences. Is that really how it should be? That says to me that the conf. commisioner process is a chore not a pleasure to those who are holding the position for points to get better teams, while many people in here would like to do it and would do a MUCH better job at it.

...i don't mean to take shots at anyone but the effort is awful and i figure i'll take some of the heat off of Dr. Tom because these things need to be said.

It may seem crazy to you, but that is the way it is. The stuff in the conference sections are ALL extra. No conference commish has to do anything, and we can still get our points.

So, even if the output is down, it's hard to complain about something we are doing for free, basically.

Plus, we do more stuff then you just listed above.

And blah on the buddy-buddy process. EVERY conference commish EARNED his way there, and there are quite a few commishes that aren't part of the "buddy buddy" group that a few guys complain about, so that excuse doesnt make sense to me.

I still stand by my opinion that I don't get how people can complain when every conference commish could NOT do all that stuff, and we'd still get all of our points.

I agree the output has been down. But certain people are not commishes any more,a nd guys like TStep went above and beyond. You can't exactly expect another person to fill the role of a Tstep or even a couple of other guys who were gurus at that.

Count me as another coming to Nole's defense then. Whats your bitch cause you seem to be jumping from post to post. Your first post was saying things like "And as for pointing out a MAJOR problem (with all the unplayed games)" and
"There are going to be a crazy ridiculous number of games simmed out." Nole showed you stats showing we are having no more sims than we usually do season to season, so you are bitching about a problem that is only greater in your eyes. You snidely comment back to nole and other coaches in this league with your responses and yet you feel us commishes and others are attacking you and your followers.

There are 119 coaches in this league, no way in hell are all 119 people going to be happy with how this league is done. We understand this and as a long time coach in this league and frequent bitcher myself from time to time, shit that needs to be taken care of does and the small stuff aint worth sweating. Your contempt for the people who run this league is unreal and shows in every post you make about this league and its to the point of laughable. You have stated many times that this league is not as great as it once was one reason being the greater amount of games simmed (which is only in your head), what other controllable things can be improved and how would you propose they be handled?

IMO, I say you need to fire up the OSPL and run that little utopia cause as long as I have been in this league as far back as Jeff Mo and back in the days of the great Tat/Tom wars, you have always bitched about the NDL. Nole isn't "my boy", and I'm gonna back him on this one. I haven't been here but a month, but it's already the best league I've ever been associated with--in terms of gameplay, in terms of activity, and DEFINATELY in terms of depth and forum chatter. No offense, but I prefer a set of commisioners who communicate with their people, who keep things interesting and interactive, and a place where people chatter and talk. In another league I was in recently, we were lucky to have four posts a week, and I dunno HOW many times I'd shoot a PM to the higher-ups that would get read and not replied to, no matter what it was about. Heck, the CO-commishes would reply and be more active than the COMMISH!

I came in with a ton of games left to play, and I will have them all played on time. The league is great and is quite fun.

Hell, I know I'm not the only one in here dealing with financial fears, job woes, and just regular everyday life....and the league has been more active and streamlined than any I've ever experienced. Add to that the fact that less than 10% of over ONE THOUSAND GAMES will be simmed, at the pace we go, well....I'd say BigMike is doing one hell of a job, and I don't plan to go ANYWHERE.

A BIG THANKS to MYSELF, seeing everytime I point out that there are ways to improve what we have here, it causes most everyone to rally around the higher ups and the league in general. Guess that's not all bad, eh?

There's absolutely positively no doubt that either side is in the right. I realize that I don't handle my complaints the best way I could. I also realize that this league is NOT fulfilling it's full potential, but if u don't have control of the reigns, then ur opinions are worthless. I can't believe that people choose not to look at the big picture and force a more fair and equal and continuously improving league. But if the masses are satisfied and no one is going to do anything different, so be it.

While I bitch about things, I still know and believe that this is the best online league out there. I continue to back it up and recommend it and defend it, as I run the NDL Farm. While certain people may believe that things are just hunky-dorey around here, BIGmike realizes that there are problems and I hope he puts forth the effort to try to do what's necessary to keep this league strong.

If you don't do anything why should you be rewarded? Having a pretty active one this year in DooDee was really refreshing. And I understand some help do scheduling and whatnot, but being a conference commish isn't that hard so no reason NOT to do anything when you are being compensated for what maybe 20 minutes or less of effort maybe 2-4 times through the course of the season. It's not something I am worried about but since it was brought up I don't agree with what you said, perhaps just misinterpreting you.
