Trendon / SOPA
Re: Trendon / SOPA
The internet is the greatest tool ever and it doesnt allow the government to be as curropt. Can u imagine twitter and shit during the JFK assassination? Lets just say Lee Harvey wouldnt of been locked up.

They're not censoring twitter in the United States. If they did there would be a huge backlash. Won't happen.nick wrote:Theyre censoring twitter lol. I hope you guys enjoy being told what to do. "wahhh piracy" more like "wahh freedom".

if the US government wants SOPA to pass so bad, what makes you think they wont start censoring tweets too? Dont live in a bubble, the world is becoming too educated on the shady ways of the government and now they need ways to control it. You would be naive to think US wouldnt start censoring too.

Why are you googling for me? Where on that page is it saying that they are censoring in the US? You are way too paranoid. Yes, paranoid.nick wrote:http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=Twitter+censoring+tweetssixpackdan101 wrote:They're not censoring twitter in the United States. If they did there would be a huge backlash. I'm paranoid? Under the SOPA act, you can get 5 years for uploading a single michael jackson song to youtube. Michael Jackson's killer got 4 years. You think that makes sense??sixpackdan101 wrote:Why are you googling for me? Where on that page is it saying that they are censoring in the US? You are way too paranoid. SOPA is over, so get over it. What did you do about it anyways besides call people sheep and make up these outrageous situations that you've read from other paranoid people on the internet? If SOPA passed and I uploaded a video of Thriller I guarantee you that I would not be thrown in prison.nick wrote:I'm paranoid? What is up with your vehement defense of breaking copyright laws? In America if you create something you should see the rewards of your creation. Simple as that...

Lol, youre a sheep for believing that. Thats the initial thing. Second, you have no idea whats gonna happen so how can you speculate? If this bill didnt mean that much how are massive p2p sharng sites being dropped? If this wasn't a big concern why did massive corporations go black for a day in protest? because its fun? No, because its a big fucking deal.sixpackdan101 wrote:SOPA is over, so get over it. You were the first to speculate about posting a Michael Jackson video on youtube.nick wrote: Second, you have no idea whats gonna happen so how can you speculate?
It's a bill. It had nothing to do with any P2P sites being dropped.nick wrote: If this bill didnt mean that much how are massive p2p sharng sites being dropped?
Nowhere did I say that it isn't a big deal. I don't think it is as big a deal as paranoid people like you are making it out to be. I have been against the bill since I first read up on it. What I don't support is anon terrorists taking down services to prove a point. I don't support people that want this bill removed simply because they want to keep pirating. What I do support is people like Trendon who will voice their opinion to their representatives.nick wrote: If this wasn't a big concern why did massive corporations go black for a day in protest? because its fun? Re: Trendon / SOPA
Anon doesnt do this to pirate. they do this because information should be free to everyone.
Re: Trendon / SOPA
Does the information that should be free include movies, music, and eBooks according to them?nick wrote:Anon doesnt do this to pirate. they do this because information should be free to everyone.

Re: Trendon / SOPA
I never said they pirate, although I'm sure many of them do. I said I don't support people who oppose the bill simply because they want to pirate.nick wrote:Anon doesnt do this to pirate. they do this because information should be free to everyone.
I'd be lying if I said I never pirated. I still do. But I know it's wrong. And if a bill passed tomorrow that effectively ended pirating, my only thought would be "Damn. Oh well, it was good while it lasted." Some people actually believe there is nothing wrong with pirating.

Yeah, I'm wondering what "information" a website like thepiratebay has that they would want to protect.

Re: Trendon / SOPA
From what I have read there is a SOPA-like bill before the Canadian parliament. Maybe you should worry about that and let us worry about the land of the free.
