Merchandise Revenue

Post by dakshdar »

Looks like revenue for merchandise sales are way, way down this year. The season is almost over and I'm well below half of what I had last year for merchandise. Checked out a few other teams and the same was true.

Is this a change in OOTP12 or is there an actual explanation for this?

It is 12's default setting.

So, if I have this right, in '12 just about every way we make money has seemingly gone down yet the contract demands of the players have gone up?

Brilliant!

media revenue went up from $25M to $40M (from 10). Add the extra $15M to your merch revenue and it should be close to even.

Well, do we know that demands have gone up?

This past offseason wasn't the best way to judge due to the media revenue debacle?

good thing we're not like the NCAA or else your sunbelt team wouldnt even qualify for the playoffs.

 if I played in your division i'd probably be in the playoffs. The funny part is, you get lucky. You're +7 wins, your Pythagorean expectation is 74-63 lmao, you wouldnt even be top 3 in my fucking division. Save the shit talk until you actually play in a worthy division. Denver in 2nd has a below .500 record. Congrats, you play in the NFC West.

p.s - wait til you face some adversity. It must be nice to be given a massive fan base and interest and a ridiculous payroll. I could be cruising in the playoffs too if I was the richest team in the league.

whats this even mean.

last year i had 67 mill in media and 35 mill in merch.

this year i have 40 mill in media and 13 mill in merch (so far)

so i stand to lose over 40 mill.....thats information i could have used before extending guys (no homo) etc etc

Thats incorrect AJ.

Last year you had media revenue of $25M. Go look at your OOTP10 file and you will still see that number. It was always suppose to be at $25M. Trendon wrote it in the rules (you can still see it) that media contracts are locked in at $25M for every team in order to avoid having a few Yankee like teams and a few Kansas City teams.

When Trendon made the upgrade from 10 to 12, he forgot to lock in the contracts at $25M. So they adjusted for the last day of the season (why you show larger media revenues in 12 for last year) and then adjusted again for the new season.

I recommended that to Trendon that we settle on $40M, $15M more than we are suppose to have per our rules, to limit the effect on most teams. The budgets where also adjusted (people bitched like crazy) so that teams would not end up crying this offseason that they spent money they wouldnt otherwise have.

So you actually went from $25M in media revenue to $40M (again, if you doubt my word, look at the rules section in the forums and last years OOTP10 file).

We didnt mess with Merch revenue. I am not sure but I think 10 may of had a seperate line item for merchendize costs that would offset the higher gains. I am not sure. Everyone is in the same boat, with teams with bigger markets earning more than anyone else. That would include PO.
