Re: This game
I think something could be said about how someone is going about reading the receivers to determine who's open.
If you've got 4-5 options on every play, and on many plays someone is running a slant, if the first thing you do is read the slant and if it is open throw it, then I would encourage anyone to consider that on many of those plays, the slant may not be intended to be the first read. Give yourself the option of varying it up by looking to another route as the primary. I think in years past there was some indication on the play art of what was the "first read" on a pass play.
If someone completes 15 passes in a game and 11 are slant pass, and they're throwing it immediately, where they couldn't have possibly gone through any other progression, then it does kind of suck if you do have a team that can't react to that quickly enough (or you don't have the user skills to cover the slant).
I check my receivers routes and icons before the play and establish a read progression. The starting read changes a lot, the final read is almost always the dump-off/safety valve to the curled TE or RB in the flat. Now, I can't say my system works because I really suck at the game, but it feels somewhat reasonable as I read through the receivers.
To me, variety is the most important aspect of the game.

I can't complete a curl to save my life.
I make it a point to take out most of the curls in my PB in all honesty, I throw too many picks on them.

I've gotten pretty good at reading the corner and timing it. You have to throw it about 1.5 seconds before your WR actually makes the curl and while the DB is still in full stride away from you. If they DB has slowed down at all you don't throw it because it's getting knocked down or it's going the other way.iRoccafella wrote:I can't complete a curl to save my life.![]()

it's funny cuz last year it got picked when you did it right. Again EA with the extremes from never working to now working everytimeLetsGoPeay wrote:I've gotten pretty good at reading the corner and timing it. Re: This game
Last year my money route was the out route. Now it's borderline unusable because the DB's undercut it almost every single time. This year it seems the curl route is the go to move. Sideline post routes are still great against a zone.VeniVediV1ci wrote:it's funny cuz last year it got picked when you did it right. Re: This game
My goals for this season are still not complete.
1) Run a fake field goal or punt and actually get the throw off, or on a running fake get positive yards.
2) Complete a pass out of the wildcat using the running back (apparently athletes cannot throw 8 yards if they do not play quarterback)
3) Block a punt
I do not think EA will allow any of these things to ever occur.

Re: This game
Curls and outs to the widest receivers are the hardest routes to complete to me. You have to time them just right and you have to throw them with the right speed. Otherwise it is likely going the other way.

I read all these and laugh, not at you guys, but just at the fact that I have nooooo freaking idea what route my receivers are running. I just cross my fingers and pray one of them gets open before I get sacked.

I had someone run a fake fg and a fake punt on me in the same game and complete them both.SuperJakeB wrote:My goals for this season are still not complete.
