rumors suggesting that if Dickey gets dealt, itll be to Toronto.

dunno what to think.. man, if we got him, we'd have a top 5 pitching rotation

RA Dickey, Brandon Morrow, Josh Johnson, Mark Beurhle, Ricky Romero

Talk about trade rape. This is worse that what the Rays did do the Royals if the Mets can pull it off.

Love this trade.

The Mets can still roll out Harvey, Niese, Gee, and Santana this season likely with Wheeler joining them (or some stop-gap).

d'Arnaud probably plays this year and Syndergaard comes in next year to replace Santana (even if he has a good season, I don't see the Mets picking up his option with the money he costs and the way they're trying to go with salary).

i hate the deal if both pan out, but AA hasnt made many dumb deals

Travis D'Arnaud simply cannot stay healthy and had a torn ACL, as a catcher thats kinda worrisome.

Noah is a prospect but he wasnt even our best SP prospect, and we got more.

RA Dickey
Josh Johnson
Brandon Morrow
Mark Beuhrle
Ricky Romero

thats a top 5 pitching rotation.

We got the NL Cy Young and we got Melky as well, who woulda been talked about for MVP (doubt he won), but still, AND Reyes

man, im amped for next season

love that they're going hard for you nick, this is the year to make the charge with Boston down and the Yanks looking old. It's funny that Baltimore is all of a sudden a contender, but i'm actually excited for MLB already

Wonder what Texas will do other than rid all that money. The way I see it now they are going to have a hard time replacing the pieces they are letting go for a strong playoff run.
Nolan going to go after stronger pitching I think and play more old style baseball? If they go after that IDIOT AJ perszensky (spelling) I will be pissed. I hate that dude.

Rangers trying to get equal with Houston in suckiness.

you may hate him now, but AJ is a great baseball player and if he's on the team you root for you'd like him. He hit for power last year and will do even more in Arlington

Also meant to say letting Michael Young go was a big mistake IMO also...

i have liked Michael Young for his entire career and think the Rangers kinda toyed with him by not allowing him to keep a starting job (he was a great guy moving around wherever they asked), but he did not hit well last year at all if i remember correctly

I stick with the idea that every season hope springs eternal... in spring training.

Plus, I can derive some happiness from a team where I like the players, the direction of the franchise, and the way they play even if the results aren't Championship caliber. Sports is really no different than watching a movie or reading a book to me. It is entertainment. And, other than in the moment, I hardly ever let it impact my demeanor or mood over a period of time (in a negative way at least).

I like the way the Mets are headed. No Bay, younger players, locking up Wright (which I think was the right thing to do). Guess we'll see.

isn't that the case with 95% of fans? outside the absolute lunatic who tattoo's former players on his arms and chest like this dude:
