Should have been 6, FAU got snubbed. I had a 9-1 streak to finish the season, knocking off two undefeated teams in Troy and Florida International. lol.
I agree and I think you were in my top 25. :D
I think I love you. lol

Yeah I just went and looked, I did get 39 votes in the coaches but not a single vote in the media. How does the media pole here work? How many guys are voting in that and how do they get that privilege? Seems like the media should be the ones to get it right but they put Troy ahead of me? Ok enough whining from me, had a blast here this season and can't wait to get a chance to crack the top 25 with a real team.

And for all of the griping FIU more than held their own against OSU, losing 35-37. Seems like the non-BCS schools can compete.

I am just going to chime in and say my piece and then be done.
I was just like you guys complaining every season that I don't see any effort put into the voting etc.

You have to remember a few things...
First and foremost, coaches are free to vote for whoever and however they want. It sucks, but they can put any name anywhere they want when voting.

Second, FIU probably ended up in most polls higher than some may feel that they should have because they were ranked #14 in the previous poll.

Here is my process for voting, agree with it or not, this is what I do.

I start off at the top of the previous poll and take a look at each team and see what has happened with that team since the last poll came out.
Alabama was #1 in the last poll, no losses since then and won their conference. My opinion, they stay at #1.
#2 Florida, did not make it to their conference championship, so even though they didn't lose their week 13 and 14 games, #3 Virginia Tech gets the nod over them, in my opinion.
#3 Virginia Tech did not lose their weeks 13 and 14 games and won their conference championship.

And so on and so on. I also take into account the Massey ratings too.

So when I got to #14 FIU, yes, he lost his week 13 game to FAU. So I was prepared to drop him in the polls.
But then teams under him lost. Nevada lost week 13, Colorado State won their weeks 13 and 14, so I put them above him in my last poll.
Florida State lost week 14, Stanford lost week 13 and 14, Ohio State lost weeks 13 and 14....so that is why he only dropped one spot in my last poll.

Also, even though he lost to FAU, he ended the season 11-1 compared to FAU's 9-3.

So to people complaining and such, remember, we each have our own method of voting. And I have said it before, albeit right or wrong, as long as some type of effort is put forth, I can live with that.

And I believe that the Media poll is a result of the Conference Commissioners and Admins votes.

I know for me (Nevada) I was 4-0 against BCS Schools (Arizona St, NC St (was not simmed), Oklahoma St and Vandy)

I'm with Niddler, that is exactly how I vote. Also, some of you may like it or not but if I played Bama and he played a complete cheesy ass game he is not getting voted high, undefeated or not. I'd vote him #8 or so because he was a cheese dick in our game.

Yes it is if you don't like someone based on their gameplay.

I actually vote based on the previous week and then look at losses from there. But I do know plenty of people that vote like women around here and vote of their emotions and how much they like other coaches or hate them lol. I always find it classic that a team can be voted in the top 10 then left off someones final ballot. The drama is awesome!

I would agree with Jeff, if I read his dissertation but I just use mtwasik's aide and see what they did last two weeks. On noobs I base on records and conference.
