I don't care why they decided to take him alive.
I don't blame them one bit for trying to blow him away.
He committed crimes period.
Let's just say that he was innocent as far as the bombs, then why flee from the cops?
Why get in an SUV and drive through a barricade?
U r making the same arguments we r, just from the other side of the fence.
If u r truly innocent, then why flee?
In my opinion, the minute you flee, you deserve what you get.
I have said it before. When a person of authority says freeze, you freeze.
If the judicial system is as good as you say it is and he is innocent until proven guilty then again, why run?
Lets say he freaked out and fled, once you realize what is going on, why not turn yourself in?
I'm not saying he didn't do it. I'm saying I have questions that I'd like answers to; as we all should. I'm saying the FBI said and did things that don't make sense, and for once the American people should call them on their bullshit instead of letting them do what they want and never answering for it. Just like Waco, just like every other thing they've fucked up.
My end point is that if you suspend the Constitution, if you suspend the Bill of Rights, then two things happen:
1) You've given the terrorists more power and more victory than they ever could achieve otherwise, because you've now taken away the VERY THING that makes America better than any other nation in the world--the liberties and freedoms guaranteed by those two documents!!! If you say "well this is different, he's a terrorist", THEY'VE WON! He's an American, and like his crime or not, like his punishment or not, he's still an American, and he's still guaranteed those rights. And until the day comes where the Constitution or the Bill of Rights suddenly are found to say "well, unless they do _______; then they can have their rights taken away", he's still entitled to those rights!!!! That's why we have a legal system, that's why we have courts, to dole out the punishment that is due to him!
2) You've now given the government a precedent to do this whenever they choose. You've given them the golden ticket to violate the very laws that govern THEM. And the moment that happens, you lose those rights forever. The founding fathers knew this, and that's why they wrote these documents the way they did.
I hate what the kid did, and he'll answer for what he did. That said, I think there's more to this than what the media and the government are telling us. I don't think he did it and that's the end of it; and I don't think it's a massive government conspiracy. But I think the answer lies in-between, as it often does, and I think the government, the FBI, etc know more than they're saying. The only people who can hold the government accountable are the people of the United States of America. But we stopped doing that over 40 years ago, so why should anybody expect we'd start doing it now?
