I was actually going to ask if you lease from him, seems like that may be something to think about if not lol.

Sounds kinda like a lease.Cnasty wrote:No lease.![]()

You can probably get even better deals with him if you just do 2 year leases or something.

Re: Pimp your ride thread
With the lease you are basically signing on for that period of time and mileage is a big part of it.
This is basically leasing without the restrictions so its better.
Not to mention its easier when the Cherokee has some equity in it because its so hot right now which is another big selling point to him and would drive the payments on the truck lower than the Jeep.
Wife loves the Jeep though so it will be a tough battle.

Re: Pimp your ride thread
Waiting to wrap up my refi, but I've got my Jeep Liberty Renegade on Craigslist right now. I'll put it on Autotrader after the refi closes. Once that's done, then I'll grab my new car. I've got a few options that I've test drove, some, unfortunately, I've had to cross off... then still a few more to look at.
What I like that's new for 2014:
Durango R/T - 2011-13 redesign was nice, but transmission was lacking... that gets fixed in 2014 when they slap the 8 speed in it.
Impreza WRX - Hands down the best looking redesign for 2014, if they carry through with most of the concept stuff. Potential downfall could be if they go with only manual tranny, as my wife has no clue on how to drive one. Other bad feature... trunk space. My Liberty isn't big enough as it is.
Chevy SS - I was stoked about the unveil and should have grabbed a G8 GT 3yrs ago. May have an issue with space here too... see below.
What I've drove so far:
2013 Ford Fusion Titanium - They didn't have an AWD on the lot, but this one was still impressive. Price tag seemed a bit high compared to the potential performance and price on a Chevy SS.
2013 Kia Optima SX Turbo - Really liked this car. Style, features, even reasonable value for everything that it packs. But... it's a Kia. I still struggle with that.
2009 Pontiac G8 GT - The one I drove had a clean car fax, single owner, apparently was an older guy that went with a Taurus SHO. It was on the lot for 2 days, I drove it on a Friday and got a call that they sold it Saturday morning. Speed and handling were excellent, as I expected. But my biggest issue was the trunk space. I checked out numerous photos online and it looked good, but then, in person, it just didn't seem much bigger than my wife's Lancer. If we have plans to have a 2nd child, we're going to have to have a vehicle that can easily transport 2 kids and I'm not sold that this would cut it, especially for any type of road trip/vacation.
This weekend I'm going to drive a 2011 Durango R/T. I've heard quite a bit about the sluggish transmission, so I don't have my hopes up there, but I've also heard that with the unibody design that's also used on the Jeep Grand Cherokee (partnered with Mercedes GL), that it rides very well for such a large vehicle.
I'll update later with pics once I get this refi wrapped up and zero in on potential new ride.

Re: Pimp your ride thread
Test drove the 2013 model and really liked it and was going to my be purchase until Spydie found the Cherokee listed on the last page for us. The new design is beautiful and it feels like it hovers on the ground with how smooth the ride was. I recommend it if you narrow it down. Also, I know a guy that can get you a hell of a deal.ReignOnU wrote: What I like that's new for 2014:

You should test drive a SHO. They are bad ass. My brother has a 2013 and it has everything, including air conditioned seats with butt massagers, and power. It's twin turbo 3.5L V6 generates over 370 hp and since it is awd it really takes off and there isn't any turbo lag at all. They're nice cars.ReignOnU wrote:

Got one from Avis a few wells back. Lets just say Cali traffic is the only thing that saved me From roasting that one out.OracleHCR wrote:You should test drive a SHO. They are bad ass. my brother in law got a hyundai genesis and that car is pretty fun to drive. Also one of the best cars of 2013 according to consumer reports

Re: Pimp your ride thread
Also. If you want a nice balance of performance, style, size, and good gas mileage look at 2012 300's. I've taken those on road trips and averaged 31 mpgs. Interior is super nice with the 8inch screen with the nav option. Fun to drive and super comfortable.texasfan4444 wrote:Got one from Avis a few wells back. Re: Pimp your ride thread
So I traded in my v6 challenger for a RT with the special edition blacktop pkg last weekend. Getting tint on Friday!
.

Re: Pimp your ride thread
Thanks, I got a pretty good deal with my trade equity my new loan is only 23k. I also finally have some balls under there. And I found out my credit score is pretty unreal for someone my age too. Had to go to hot springs to pick it up though. There wer none within a thousand miles with that pkg.
Re: Pimp your ride thread
Nice ride bearass. It's gonna look great with tint. What % you going with?
The first thing I'd do personally is get some WD-40 and wipe that Tim Parker sticker off. At least it isn't an emblem like some dealers use.
All of these Mopars in here are crowding my little blue oval out.

Bad ass ride Bearass!
In joking with Spydie I asked if a car seat will fit in the back of a R/T Challenger on his lot. True salesman said yes. Joke flew right over.

Bearass isn't messing around anymore, that is siiiiiiick. With Dave prancing around in a Prius nowadays, Matt may take the NDL's best car title, at least that I can think of.
