Manager Mode 101

So, I was messing with the Manager Mode a bit last night since I'm retired from the Club circuit

Anybody got any tips on this? I don't know much about transfer markets and windows or whatever.

I have 3 scouts, but I guess you assign each one to scout a certain country, then you also assign specific types of players they should be looking for, right?

This all may be a terrible idea since I know nothing about formatoins and what types of players/attributes to look for when assigning formations and all of that good stuff.

oddly enough cdub knows a lot about that shit. me and him used to talk for hours about football manager. theres certain times a yr (like january-february and the summer) when transfer windows open and you can "buy" players. 1 thing Ive read online is apparently those scouted numbers disappear just before the trasnfer window or something really dumb.

I've been playing a manager mode with Portsmouth, trying to get them back up the BPL.

Scouting reports disappear 30 days after the last "scouting" of the player.

Shel, I'd focus more on hiring youth team scouts and build a youth academy. Then send your regular scouts out just to scout certain players or certain types of players. Don't hire extra scouts, not worth the money.

Also, save up some points and buy a "financial takeover", it'll help as well.

Go to the EA Sports FC catalogue, you can spend your EAFC points on things like unlocking boots, shirts, attributes for your online pro, etc.

One of them is "financial takeover". The higher the point total, the more money your "new owner" will infuse into your budget.
