Re: 2013 College Football Season
I think the jersey's are pretty badass... and definitely think that anyone making a connection to blood splatter is just looking for a reason to cause an issue. It's on the blue as well as the red. Are there dead smurfs laying around as well?

It rarely feels genuine anymore, thats for sure

It can't be stressed enough. It is now officially in Susan G. Komen territory and has nothing to do with honoring the troops, just honoring oneself and making a buck. Now, I am often critical of people who say "troops protect our freedom" (because they don't, in fact, they could potentially do the opposite; but that's another discussion) but I have a generally ambivalent view towards soldiers: don't hate them, don't pay attention to them.ajalves wrote:trendon wrote:I am going to go even further; I am tired of honoring the troops.

However, when these slimy fucks like breast cancer awareness groups (and this "Movember" is another fucking scam, for men this time) and wardrobe changes for troops come out, it definitely gets me furious because now they are capitalizing on the stupidity of all of us in TWO ways.

Working for one of the larger cancer centers in the nation and doing some research on this was pretty enlightening to say the least.fsupenguin wrote:Don't even get my started on Komen bs, it's strait up extortion at this point.

Oklahoma is a 15 point dog to Baylor Thursday. Everyone is picking Baylor. Thoughts?

+2.....I haven't run my numbers on it yet, but just at the looks of it OU....Cnasty wrote:Gimmie the Sooners
Here's another thing to keep in mind, OU's secondary can be horrendous at times (Dole am I right), I worry about Stoops blitzing and getting beat by the pass.
One more, if you bet real money the over 1st quarter in all of Baylor's games has been a very good bet. (I just read some statistic's on this over the weekend)
I just think Stoops has OU ready to play in this one.....

Anyone see those helmets Miami (OH) have? Probably the worst I've seen all year.

Komen is extortion? (enlightening?) Curious to hear your thoughts since where you work. The James is almost in my back yard...........Cnasty wrote:Working for one of the larger cancer centers in the nation and doing some research on this was pretty enlightening to say the least.fsupenguin wrote:Don't even get my started on Komen bs, it's strait up extortion at this point.

Re: 2013 College Football Season
Baylor's first real test this weekend, and that is saying a lot when OU is their test this year. Baylors combined record of opponents is like 4 and 50....there toughest opponent so far is Kansas State (the same team who got beat at home by NDSU)...and they only beat them by 10. I actually hope OU slams them hard, but who the hell knows in college football these days haha. Baylor losses 2 of the next 4 games though.
Season 25 NCAA - New Mexico Lobos 5-7
Season 26 NCAA - Arizona Wildcats 11- 3 (Pac 12 Champions, Rose Bowl Champions)
Season 1 Madden - Seattle Seahawks 12-4 NFC Champoinship game (lost)
Season 27 NCAA - Texas Longhorns 9-4 (Alamo Bowl champs vs USC)

I work (well, I'm lazy now, so let's be honest: worked) with The Red Cross and have many friends in Habitat for Humanity. They loathe Komen and distrust pretty much every medical charity out there. I will only donate to Red Cross, Habitat, and despite my odd ambivalence to soldiers, I just gave to Wounded Warrior because they seem to be doing wonderful things and a quick Google said they are a solid chairty.Cnasty wrote:Working for one of the larger cancer centers in the nation and doing some research on this was pretty enlightening to say the least.fsupenguin wrote:Don't even get my started on Komen bs, it's strait up extortion at this point.

1. Not picking Baylor.
2. No play.
