To start the game I would agree. Second half adjustments go to Jimbo Fisher. Plus he had the play call of the game that changed the whole scenario with the fake punt. In the second half FSU went to shorter drops with quick passes on offense and started moving the ball. Auburn stuck with the same game plan all game. It almost worked but in the end FSU coaches managed to turn it around.

I disagree, for most of the game Auburn had the better scheme...look at the first two quarters.....minus a late punt fake. This Auburn coach is great. 4th quarter....you can't blame a coach for a Kr return, did you see the return, guy missed his lane, guy went down.


I don't know, I was a fan of FSU, but could easily see Jimbo was out coached in this one.....

You don't think Fisher's second half adjustments were better than Malzahn's? FSU out scored Auburn 24-10 in the second half. Even without the kick return they out scored them 17 - 10. Auburn did nothing in the third quarter. Florida State started moving the ball after the half. First half goes to Auburn coaching staff. Second half goes to FSU coaching staff. We can agree to disagree.

kudos to auburn defense for not punking out, playing like they're an SEC team and doing what everyone else only tried to do...bring pressure but still cover/control fsu wideouts long enough for the pressure to get there. The dbs played an amazing 1st half and sec as a whole should be proud of how well they dominated 1st half

kudos to jimbo (who i have publicly not been plan of as a playcaller)..great adjustments in the 2nd half to get jameis in a zone and get the team going

i thought pruitt could slow down auburn to 24 points overall but didnt see them doing what they did in the 2nd half overall. great adjustments by him as well

During the first half of BCS championship game, the Florida State offense just couldn't get anything going. Jimbo Fisher says it could have been because Auburn's defense knew exactly what plays were coming.

"They had a couple of our signals a couple times and were getting to them," Fisher said Monday. "That happens, people do it, and that's our fault. You've got to change them, constantly rotate them, being able to get them in different ways. That's part of the game. I don't have a problem with that."

So how did Auburn know what was coming? Current Auburn co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Dameyune Craig just finished his first season on the Auburn coaching staff. Craig spent the previous three seasons coaching Florida State's quarterbacks under Fisher. According to Tomahawk Nation, Florida State receiver Kelvin Benjamin could be heard on the audio of the television broadcast yelling "Dameyune calling all the plays," to both Fisher and Jameis Winston during the first drive of the second half.

After that Fisher and the coaching staff busted out the towels to shield their calls from Auburn.

Whether Auburn truly was stealing signals, only the Tigers know, but it's hard to deny the results. On Florida State's first seven possessions (pre-towels) the Seminoles offense ran 37 plays for 153 yards (4.14 yards per play) and scored 10 points. On their final six drives (post-towels) the Seminoles ran 31 plays for 227 yards (7.32 yards per play) and scored 17 points.

The Louisville media is a joke. I hate living in this city sometimes, nobody does any real reporting of anything here anymore....

When other coaches w checkered pasts get hired, they tend to get grilled a bit. But this isn't just about this, the media in this city doesn't report any of the stuff that goes on. They never want to bite the hands that feed them, no matter who they are. Government, sports, etc.

The hand that feeds the majority of sports writers in Kentucky will always be KY basketball not Louisville football. As most college town papers will slant towards the home town team with a writer or two plays the bad guy.

I'm not even saying what he did was that bad but the level of forgiveness in sports is always so awesome to watch.

Are you sore he's back? I'm not even sure why its a big concern for you as a UK fan. Your only concern would be out dueling him on recruits and winning games against him not how soft the media is on him. I don't recall you posting anything about Lane Kiffin when he bolted and took other jobs, it just seems since its the 'Ville you are just hatin'.

I personally think its a great hire for Louisville. I would take that Risk/Reward gamble on him any day if I were Jurich. First of all, look around at who's left and who's a proven coach. James Franklin would of been a great candidate but Penn State jumped on him first. I'm not even sure if Louisville would of enticed him enough to make that lateral (debatable) jump.

That's the thing--most teams have that bad guy or two.....whether it's sports, government, metro council, police, etc. This city has nobody. Everyone in Louisville kisses butt and never really reports on anything. This goes way beyond sports, this is just another example.

One of Lebby's great rants he always gives is that the greatest crime someone in sports can commit is arrogance. You can do all this stuff, you can beat your wife, Jason Kidd style, and everyone will forget it forgive. But arrogance is viewed as worsee than all of those.

1) It's a "big concern" to me because I live in Louisville and it's all the media, news, etc is talking about. I've been bombarded w it nonstop. Personally, I find it hilarious. It kills UofL's "moral high ground" argument and shows that they care only about winning, while they claim they have moral superiority over UK. It's also a concern because (as stated earlier) just another example of how pathetic the media is in this city, across everything. And he won't be fighting w us for recruits for the most part, his big base is central/south Florida, Stoops recruits a ton of Ohio and the northern Florida area.

2) I never said it wasn't a great hire. Petrino is a brilliant offensive mind. But he's a laughable figure who has lied and backstabbed at every single job he's ever held since he did it to Coughlin and the Jaguars. I think it's hilarious and I can't wait until he stabs them in the back again. Maybe this time he'll do more than leave a note in the player's lockers when he skips town. Or when he screws up and Jurich changes his tune and doesn't fire him, ala Clint Hurtt. That said, they should have gone with Chad Morris or the Michigan State DC (who really wanted the job from what reports are saying), would've had less baggage. But at least this provides jokes for a loooong time I doubt Franklin would have considered the job, it's a step down from the SEC.
