Unless some team has him really high on their draft board, I would understand why teams would shy away, it does make sense, unfortunately.

fake gay?
20-50 men in a room together, constantly practicing, eating together, showering, like a "brotherhood".. in any other scenario minus say jail that would be pretty gay.

not genuine; sham.
"we are talking about real journalists and not the pseudo kind"

thats what Pseudo means btw.

I dont think sports are genuinely gay, but it shouldnt be shocking based on the #s when someone is gay.

and i guess "fake" (as ive seen thats a definition fo rit too) works. Sports are fake gay, they have all the characteristics of a big gay orgy minus the camera and ass fucking. so its pretty fake gay.

I think my man crush on CFN and Fiutak is actually affecting my thoughts. Look what he just wrote!

If he was Michael William Sam, he’d be named after all three linebacker positions …

Okay, NFL, here’s your big test.

Michael Sam is a third round prospect and one of the 100 best players in the draft, and there’s a margin for error of one round. If he goes in the fourth, fine, if he goes early in the fifth, okay – it’s not crazy. However, if he drops deep, it’ll be because teams are passing for reasons other than his potential on the field.

Hopefully, he’s not selected by the Raiders – it would be too easy for Sam to be drafted by a franchise known for trailblazing and outside-the-box thinking. Minnesota and Miami, this moment is for you. Need a pass rusher? Want to put the issues of 2013 in the past? A tremendous playmaker who flies into the backfield will be right there for the taking, and there’s absolutely no reason whatsoever not to draft him in the mid-to-late third.

Hopefully, some GM doesn’t just make the pick and then say it was because Sam’s a great prospect. It would be better if a franchise decided to make a statement and say, yeah, he was drafted because he’s a great prospect and because it’s a socially important moment that the team wanted to be a part of.

After the whole process plays itself out, no matter where he’s drafted, Sam’s inclusion into the NFL will work out just fine.

I'm going with the counter argument... he gets drafted earlier than he should because he is gay. 1 of those 32 teams wants the publicity.

no one seems to know though where he gets drafted. Someone had him in a mock draft in the late 1st and others had him in the 7th. A good combine would go a long way for him though and takes away team's excuses.

After the first round, he will be the biggest story of the draft, really interested to see where he goes.

I could see a team like Miami who was a massive fuck up last season going for him. A stable team like New England or Seattle or San Francisco would be a good fit as well.

I almost want to agree with reign though that some GM will want to be known as the guy who took him though.

i think the whole 'he's going to drop in the draft' thing is getting way overblown unless you believe he wouldn't even get a non-draftee invite to training camp (which freaking Packsy could get never mind the SEC defensive POY) that will bring same amount of attention, if not more to that team (since they can just ask 'why didn't you draft him in rd x)

i have to believe he goes roughly where he's graded out. i do think a handful of teams probably don't want to deal with it, but not all of them.

Quote from Michael Sam's father on his feelings upon getting the text from his son explaining what was happening:
The party stopped cold. “I couldn’t eat no more, so I went to Applebee’s to have drinks,” Sam Sr. said. “I don’t want my grandkids raised in that kind of environment.
“I’m old school,” he added. “I’m a man-and-a-woman type of guy.” As evidence, he pointed out that he had taken an older son to Mexico to lose his virginity.

This kid has more guts and courage than the "anonymous" GMs and scouts saying crap

"Hey, you can say that I said he will slide down the draft because of this, but don't put my name in there!"

so people who are gay have to announce it to the world? if so, for some reason, that is them displaying courage?
