congrats seeit, jax is very affordable. Was looking at moving there around 2008 and was very surprised how close we could get to the beach (if you're into that)
definitely some great areas that are probably decently price, just do your research if you havent already...a few very shady neighborhoods as well as with all places
and dont be fooled by the "Florida's largest city" slogan if they still run that.....it is....but in incorporated sq miles....not actual number of people or things

Yea the whole area being one big city is annoying when you're trying to describe where something is lol.
Jax doesn't get hit directly by hurricanes from what I've read, still get rain and wind, but not the nastiest and worst since its so far up north. Ain't skurred.
I actually had all day last saturday to look for apartments, and have a friend in jax who "de ghettoed" my list of places. Probably signing a lease today at our top choice.
Haven't talked to Wes (fiesty) yet, or recently for that matter.
