Regarding the Playing (or Lack Thereof) of the Bowl Games

I gave you guys two whole weeks to play your bowl games and right now there are still 17 bowl games left to be played. I've been checking the scheduling threads and some of you haven't even tried to get your games scheduled. If your team's name appears on this list you haven't tried at all to get your bowl game scheduled and will most likely not get credit for your bowl game and receive some type of point deduction:

Oregon
Tulsa
UNLV
Wisconsin
Wake Forest
Arkansas State
Arizona State
Alabama
Ole Miss
Missouri

Also, some of those names on that list will probably not be invited back to the league for season 16 unless I see some type of effort to get the games played. We all committed to doing our best to get our games played and right now it looks like some of you honestly don't care.

we (wisconsin/WF) posted, and we've been aim chatting for a while. i was out of town doing my disseration defense, and when i returned, my wife's grandmother took a turn for the worse and passed away tuesday. we're doing funeral home stuff and the funeral through the end of the week.

if it gets played, it gets played. if it means no points for me, so be it. not much i've been able to do. not exactly par for my course, but it is what it is.

What do those rentals cost now? I'll chk on that and send ya the bill. The advantage of selling off the game? The wife put it towards buying the Wii Fit. Her slimming some fat off that gut and giving me something to get aroused over is MUCH more important than the bowl game. Now, back to www.redtube.com .

There you go tom!!!!! I know you have some probs with things here in the NDL, i understand that. But to just plain disrespect the work that went into assigning bowls and the time im sure that took is just plain SAD! It disheartens me to see your lack of respect flowing freely when you were once an admin and you know the work that it takes. I would have never disrespected you in the farm like you have this group of admins. Unbelieveable really. but to each his own. enjoy the wii fit!

Guaranteed, this has NOTHING to do with myself and the NDL.

I finished my regular season, long ago. The wife mentioned wanting to pick up the Wii Fit and so I went digging for games to trade in, that I didn't play any longer. I forgot about the bowl game. I explained the situation to my bowl game opponent and he was understanding. So many folks around here take the "follower", not a "leader" attitude of "hey, just worry about yourself and don't worry about what others are doing". While that way of looking at things is a joke, I guess I'll run with it here. My bowl game concerns myself and my opponent, no one else. I don't get the win, he does. Over and done with.

Let alone the fact that there are 12 other bowl games that are unplayed, after 1.5 weeks. Five of them include ranked teams! So, the moment that they all get played, I might start feeling the teensy bit guilty for not spending the $8 to rent this football game, in late April, to play one meaningless game.

Once again, kudos to the Commish for trying to light a fire under guy's asses. Obviously, it's good for the league to have as many of it's games to get actually played (not simmed out) as possible. I'm sorry I didn't help that cause, but I swear I would have made the greatest of efforts, between the months of August to February. March-July is baseball umpiring season for me and I don't give a rat's ass about f'ball, this time of year!

I'm in the agreement here that your opponent earned his bowl game, and deserves the chance to play it. Just because other bowl games don't get played, you don't know the circumstances behind that (take me and Vicktim for example; we've just both had a lot going on with family deaths on both sides, and his dissertation), so to say "oh, other games aren't done yet, it's no matter" is just kind of weak.

But....that's just my opinion.
