I don't know why anyone would think I'm comparing Arizona to St. Louis based on the NFL news of yesterday, but ok I get it. More details needed on the stat and it is cleared up now yes?

Hue Jackson is the new head coach for the Browns. This likely signals the end of the Billy Manziel era in Cleveland. It also likely points towards Jared Goff as their next QB.

I'm not overly excited about all of it, but Jackson was in my top 3 choices. I'm certainly good with moving on from Manziel and stabilizing the organization.

As for Goff... I'm skeptical, but could live with it. He doesn't give me the warm and fuzzy feelings, but I think that's because I get enamored with the things that a QB can beyond the basics. Cam can run like a monster. Big Ben can extend a play with his tank-like ability. There's something about these dynamic kinds of players that really makes me want to have that for my team. When I look at Goff I see a ceiling of Matt Ryan... and I don't know if that's a good thing or not. This draft mirrors Ryan's draft year in so many ways. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Ryan. I think he's a really good QB. There's just nothing flashy about him. He's a tall, skinny QB, that has good pocket awareness and can consistently make every throw. Bingo, that's Goff. When I type it out, it seems great. Do the fundamentals, do what you're supposed to do and do it well. Hell, maybe that's what this team really needs. If nothing else, maybe that fella can stop adding names to the back of the jersey.

I dig the Hue Jackson hire, he was actually my top candidate wish for Philly. I can't imagine Andy Dalton is that much more mobile than Goff. Not many options out there unfortunately. The key for Jackson is finding a defensive coordinator that can turn that defense around. Doesn't help when you don't have the players though

No idea where the defensive coordinator hunt is going to go. The fans seem to want Jim Schwartz. I could live with that. The system is similar enough that it wouldn't be a huge transition. I think he's the kind of guy that is a far better co-ordinator than he is a head coach. It's clear by the Bills performance in '14 vs '15 that he's still got the ability to put together. Beyond that, I don't even know who is on the market right now.

Perhaps Teryl Austin from the Lions if he doesn't land a head coaching job. I don't think Caldwells chances are good to stay and in turn Austin could decide to leave if they pass over him and hire from the outside

Shazier actually broke TWO rules on the hit.

Rule 12, Section 2, Article 6 states that you will be penalized for "using any part of a player's helmet or facemask to butt, spear or ram an opponent violently or unnecessarily." He led with his helmet, and it should have been a penalty.

Rule 12, Section 2, Article 8 states, "Initiating Contact With the Crown of the Helmet. It is a foul if a runner or tackler initiates forcible contact by delivering a blow with the top/crown of his helmet against an opponent when both players are clearly outside the tackle box (an area extending from tackle to tackle and from three yards beyond the line of scrimmage to the offensive team's end line). Incidental contact by the helmet of a runner or tackler against an opponent shall not be a foul."

He's lucky Mark Stoops isn't his coach. Stoops would have personally marched off 15 yards and then would have knelt and handed the ball over to Marvin Lewis like Cornwallis surrendering to Washington.

So local ESPN guy made a very good point today.

Chargers owner hates Rams owner. Chargers get right of first refusal on a stadium share after they move in a year.

With the NFL moving to Europe soon, the Charger owner may decide to beat everyone else (mainly jacksonville) and move to London and get a brand new stadium and the entire market in Europe to themselves.

Some of the throws Goff made in that bowl game were downright impressive.

He seems to have the arm. You'll see about the rest I guess.

That'd be great if true, reports have gone back and forth throughout regarding their seriousness. The first meeting seemed to be regarding a possible McAdoo hire but now I gave it more credence. Not sure where they go from here, Pedersen isn't exactly a primo candidate, maybe they'll wait on say a Matt Patricia

Watching Concussion has really made me hate the NFL
