carolina played really bad and made a lot of mistakes, many of them due to Denver's nasty D but some were self inflicted, too many to win a game like that.

Shaun King made a good post. 6 yrs back Peyton walked off like a sore loser, no hand shakes, no congrats and they called him a warrior. Now today, they're calling Cam Newton a "boy" and stuff.

Must suck being black even in 2016 lol

Six years ago, Peyton Manning stormed off of the field in the Super Bowl. Didn't shake any hands, didn't tell Drew Brees congratulations, nothing.

Did ANYONE call him "boy"? Nah.

They said it was his competitive fire.

Look at this quote, "Walking off the field without congratulating Drew Brees may go against our misguided notion of what sportsmanship should be, but it wasn't at all disrespectful or bitter. It shows how much Peyton Manning wanted to win the game. And who can argue about that?"

Hell, I don't blame him for not talking as it had to be the worst defeat in his career in any level of sports he has played at I assume. He even made sure to go out of his way to shake Peyton's hand at the end.
People are berating the guy but I have always felt you stick a mic in these guys faces when they are at the lowest level of their professional career what do you expect some times?

In real life, not NFL fantasy land lets stick some microphones in the faces of "real" people in their worst moments.

Especially with how amazing our journalist are now a days and their riveting questions.
Just a sample of what I heard:

"What do you think happened to have you guys perform to that level versus how good you have been playing?"
"Did the Broncos surprise you with how good their defense was?"
"How are you feeling after a loss like that Cam?"
"Are you disappointed in how you guys played on offense?"

I don't think the situations are comparable, but that's just me. Peyton still addressed the media and gave credit to the Saints. I don't blame Cam either. My issue is when a guy is over the top celebratory when you win, and over the top reactionary when you lose it shows you are a front runner. Cam is what he is, doesn't mean I have to like him, and I will always root against him, just the Hawks fan in me. It will ALWAYS be a race thing because media will make it that way.

The guy shows emotion and he gets slapped around for being cocky and having a good time playing the game he loves. Hell, I wish more guys showed the passion and had as good a time as he does on the field without the NFL limiting things sometimes.

He is going to show emotion when he wins and is dominating and he is going to show emotion when he loses and is pissed. People take these things way too seriously and hold these athletes at a level of non-human proportions when it comes to emotions and press conferences.

To put on my Lebby hat for a sec, when you see an article defending Peyton then see how much Cam gets bashed.. There's a lot of factors that go into it, but race is most certainly one of them. It may not be the only thing but it's definitely in play.

I just don't get why we care so much about whether he walked off of a presser. Think about it, that's getting more run than Von Miller's performance, it's absurd if you really think about it.

Yea Cam was a sore loser but it's weird how much we care about that more than almost everything else that happened in the Super Bowl.

I am one that doesn't think he is cocky but he is confident.

I don't blame him for leaving.
If you want to ask him questions with meaning, that is one thing, but to ask someone how they feel after losing the biggest game of their life, come on.

What did they expect him to say.
I wish he would have looked at them and said, I feel great, I am go to Disneyland!

He had his season stats on his shoes for pre-game, he's certainly cocky. I just don't get why people freak out over that. They all have egos, I like that he doesn't feel like he has to hide it.

It's good for the game. If the NFL had a bunch of Russell Wilson personalities out there, it would be way less interesting.
