Lot of work and tweaks for something that doesn't really add anything to our immersion factor. :)

Does a team taking on a salary dump from another in a trade not affect financials? You have to look at it from both teams, the guy dumping the salary and the guy taking on the salary. I would think it affects financials, if I am wrong then tell me I am wrong. But to impose fines because someone didn't have a coach in each position is crazy. I may have a hitting coach missing in my AA team and not even realize it because i do not look at my managers in the minors. They are irrelevant to me in this game. I try to fill the positions but I just forget at times that people have left and I jeep to start searching for new hires

My point is who cares if I didn't sign one coach in my minors when teams are circumventing ways around their salary caps their manager set. Why is it not that big of an issue with anyone else and just me but we care about coaches (in my Allen Iverson voice)

Based off of Nick's title and pic of no coaches, have we or someone else ever determined just how much of a difference having coaches vs not having coaches makes?

So this would be one step in the right direction to combat the circumventing, right? Bring the other issues up so we can vote on those changes as well. Change happens one step at a time.

It has been brought up and voted on. And it died in voting. But we are more worried about a AA position not being filled and it hurting the financials. I can understand fining teams that have zero coaches, sorry nick. But I would assume the circumventing of salary cap would be a bigger strain on the financials than some random coach making 300k

Right, which is why it's weird to hear keeping coaches around for the financial aspect of it.

You can't just make 20 mil disappear from everyone's budgets and make that money available for players. That's going to screw with player salaries (which I think we can agree are finally somewhat normal) in a major way.

You think coaches don't matter? Sign the cheapest ones. You'll still save a little money and be compliant. Way easier and quicker than arguing to get rid of them. Less stressful for you too ;-)

You say that like there's no possible workaround. Also if every team has $20mil extra to throw around, then no one actually benefits, it's a level playing field. Actually, the ones with the bigger coach salary expenses would benefit the most.

Hell, we make money magically appear by giving $10mil in trades when we have -$40mil in the bank, we can do whatever we want!!!!

Getting rid of coaches would be wayyyyyy for me than signing cheap coaches for like 6 different teams of mine.

Probably falling on deaf ears, because Reign can't take many of us serious, but it isn't sim to have a group of minor league teams being ghost managed and no financial responsibility is being placed on them. I've had a full minor league staff from the beginning, and never even thought of not filling them. Voted for coaches being required.

Poor guy is so busy that not only can he not take the time to sign coaches, he can't even take the time to put all of the words in his sentences!

I am with you Coug.
I never thought of not having coaches for my minor league teams.
Not saying it was not possible. Obviously Miami shows it is and may not have much of an impact, but I, like the majority here, according to the poll results, feel we should keep them around and I will continue to spend good money on good coaches.

Since it seems this is going to pass I would suggest signing them now as they are fresh in our mind.

We will have to discuss fines and proper handling of teams that don't sign them accordingly.

Thank you for all of the feedback fellas.

Most of the top coaches are gone now so the teams that didn't have staffs are quite behind the eight ball unless they just planned to sign the least expensive ones... Maybe no fines until next season as long as they make progress this year?

The expectation is that they are filled accordingly and I will list at the beginning of spring training which teams do not have the coaches.

I honestly hope that we don't have to impose fines or even discuss it as it is a rule just like any other rule we have put into affect that should be followed. If you don't agree with the decision and have a differing opinion that's one thing but just to adamantly refuse to do it I hope wouldn't occur.

It's too bad we couldn't offer guys that retired jobs. Would love to offer Wayne Washington a hitting coach position to see how he would do.
