TIL the number of vasectomies during March Madness goes up 50+% because guys schedule the procedure during that time so they can sit around and watch basketball for days during recovery.

I remember reading this a couple years ago, and was just talking with a urologist about it Tuesday. Says it's their busiest time of the year for them by far.Cnasty wrote:TIL the number of vasectomies during March Madness goes up 50+% because guys schedule the procedure during that time so they can sit around and watch basketball for days during recovery.
Similarly, I finally got wise and used the rest of my vacation days for this Wed-Fri. I've got a lot of appointments to get through but figured I might as well do it when I can catch some afternoon ball

Re: Random Discussions
I dropped the ball if you will.
I need to get it done soon or I am at risk of #3 coming along here soon.

Re: Random Discussions
My consultation appointment is next month. Trying to get it in before health insurance rolls over again as we're well beyond the deductible for the year already. Wife thinks #3 would be great. I say thee nay!

400 pages.
Proud of us fellas. Let's keep it going.
I was just a boy with a dream about a washing machine and here we are.

Interested to hear people's thoughts on this. My friends at work had pretty strong reactions so...
I received an anonymous letter in the mail yesterday. It was mailed, not signed, and no return address. Here's the word-for-word (terrible punctuation and all) letter:
Anyway, thought I'd share.

I took this as the ravings of a nutjob. For the record, I mow every Sunday and sweep up the sidewalk when I'm done. I've had a yard for about 8 weeks: moved into the house last May, but former owners let the front yard die and I didn't want to start a lawn during the drought of the Summer/Fall -- I waited for the winter rain and it's worked out well. I won't say I pick up every blade of cut grass, but who does? To me, it looks like some kind of form letter -- mostly due to the fact that the response to a complaint to the city that I don't pick up my grass would be for the city to come and cut my grass? The towns/cities he mentions are nearby-ish and are generally considered lower property value/lower income areas, but are by no means the ghetto (well, maybe South Central -- don't know, never been there).Dear Neighbor,
Welcome to our neighborhood, I wish I could talk to you in person, but I work nights and my girlfriend will NOT let me, she thinks this will lead to a fight. The only issue I have with you and also 5-6 other neighbors is the way you refuse to pick up the grass after you mowed your lawn. As you can see from all the other homes, EVERYBODY picks up their grass shavings as soon as they are finished. But you refuse to, and ALL the crap ends up in everyone else's home. You no longer live in San Pedro, or Wilmington or Harbor City or South Central, I don't know where you came from, and I don't care. Start picking up your trash, otherwise I will file a formal complaint with the city and they will come out, cut your grass and send you a nice $275.00 Fine, I have done it before, I will do it again. Thank you, and looking forward to seeing a nice clean street and sidewalk.
Anyway, thought I'd share.

Re: Random Discussions
Do you have an HOA?
Get a mulching blade and it goes right back into the grass versus leaving behind those trails of grass that we all hate. Or bag it which we all hate even more.
I honestly wouldn't care and would completely ignore it as long as you are not leaving your clippings all over the street and sidewalk you have nothing to worry about. Unless you have an HOA but it doesn't sound like you do.

Re: Random Discussions
Lol if someone ever wrote a letter like that to me I'd smash their face off the concrete
Re: Random Discussions
I would LOL at it and throw it away. You aren't going to get a $275 ticket. And like Ted said, HOA? Plus, if you mulch mow, you don't pick up clippings anyway. The only time I ever picked up was when I waited too long to mow and it was a mess on the yard.

Ya that's ridiculous. Seems like a pussy. Anonymous letter cause it'll lead to a fight. LMAO.

Re: Random Discussions
Another plus for Texas over Florida, they have this weird thin like grass over that thick ass St. Augustine shit that gets all thick and caked when it rains and grows like an inch a day.
Re: Random Discussions
You can check your state's laws but it is doubtful that this is against it, only being against HOA could top it. If you can figure out who sent it, I would bag your grass and just put it all over their car.
Re: Random Discussions
St Augustine is the worst. You probably have Bermudagrass which is the GOAT of hot weather grasses.Cnasty wrote:Another plus for Texas over Florida, they have this weird thin like grass over that thick ass St. Augustine shit that gets all thick and caked when it rains and grows like an inch a day.
