Didn't read the article but that's hard to believe, they'd have to lose money in doing so I'd think.
First I heard of this. But I don't think they would lose money. I think they might break even. I think returning to the big 8-12 at a time where they would most certainly compete for championships again would help improve their Brand.
George...what say you?
Not a chance in hell this happens. I can see the Big 12 folding if Texas doesn't get their shit together and get rid of the Longhorn Network. There isn't an incentive for a new team to come to the conference when one of the larger TV draws has their own network and doesn't share with the rest. And if they include BYU and their own TV deal there really isn't an incentive for anyone to join.
I know that if the Huskers were to join by some odd chance the Husker / Sooner game would have to be a yearly game like it used to be. That is the only way there wouldn't be outright riots in Lincoln. 90% of husker fans hated the BIG 12 and the Texas concentric views of the commissioner.
You hope for a cancel/no reschedule for a tough rivalry game and at worst if they do make you play it, you play it at home on a monday night or something.
No chance in hell I would accept playing that game in LSU if I were them.
I blame the SEC and wonder if they can truly force them to play the game or not somewhere else.

Foley says no other options were looked at other than playing the game at Florida. #Gators #LSU
I am with corey on this one.
I know in the mid 90's the Huskers were clearing a cool million per game (after paying a pretty penny for out of conference teams to come take the L). I am sure teams are making a lot more than that for home games if they sell out now a days
Also, if it does get rescheduled and it's played on another day than Saturday that's free advertisement for potential future collegiate athletes to watch their style of football

Corey said the hope was for a cancelation so thats one less game of revenue... The hope for a Monday or other night idea is interesting however. With Shel as far as why people keep assuming the only alternative was to play at LSU

Suprised the NCAA didn't step in and encourage Foley to seek alternate options
Foley saying they looked at no other options seems pretty egregious, and I don't know why the SEC wouldn't step in there. Games get moved all the time due to hurricanes, it's not some rare occurrence.
Good thing it's a down year and we can't beat Bama, so that crazy LSU fan of beating Bama but finishing 6-1 to their 7-1 probably won't happen, as that would be a completely meltdown if it did and the UF game wasn't rescheduled.
This is a rivalry game. Florida is not going to sacrifice HFA when they still have shot at winning the East. I'm sure the first place they'd have to consider moving to is LSU. No way, if I'm Florida and it's up to me, that I'm doing that.

Agreed.
I do think though the SEC/NCAA messed this up more than Florida. I can see maybe Monday or Sunday not working depending on when the storm actually hits and the remnants of damage but completely remove any possible chance of a reschedule barring impact on a division?
Also, WBRZ news...Baton Rouge and dudes named Jacques Doucet and Shea aren't biased at all!

If it meant going to LSU to play. Or anywhere else where the HFA isn't there, nor the revenue

I'd also assume that the revenue would be close to a wash after paying for whatever stadium they used, assuming it's not LSU's.
Miami's AD doing the AD speak but you better believe for damn sure he isn't moving this game.
The University of Miami remains confident Saturday night's football game with FSU will be played in Miami, at Hard Rock Stadium, even with Hurricane Matthew bearing down on South Florida.
In a text message to the Miami Herald, Miami Athletic Director Blake James said they're examining all possibilities if the game is to be moved, but the plan is to keep the game in Miami.
“Our plan is to play at Hard Rock Stadium," James said. "If for whatever reason we are unable to play the game at Hard Rock Stadium we have brainstormed all possible ideas. With that said, my belief remains that we will play at Hard Rock Stadium.’’
Tampa's Raymond James Stadium has been proposed as an alternative site but only rumors at this point.
Glad LSU did this, that would put us playing 3 SEC road games in 12 days
@McMurphyESPN 9m9 minutes ago Florida offered to play LSU on Nov. 19 & cancel Presbyterian game, but LSU refused, source told @ESPN. LSU hosts South Alabama on Nov. 19
