We haven't seen a Nick breakdown like this in probably years.
Re: 2016 Presidential Election
this is kinda weird that i have to explain this..
k.. i just implied that i dont care what white ppl on the topic think. I see the upset talking to black people. you took it as racist. im like uh no, you kept going, and saying im melting, im like alright, he thinks i think hes racist, i'll just go with it.. and then I saw uneducated and im like, wait, i am uneducated, so i'll just go with that too. So I said dont reply cause i dont talk to racists which is 100% true so if u were i wouldnt talk to you.. and then youre posting pics which i dont get, so i said hey! i'll use the uneducated joke again, and then you said im melting cause of a triggered word, so I posted olaf.
For the record, I'm bored and just going with the flow. Youre the one melting but hey man, now that I explained it it's not so fun

Wait, you don't get that those pics were trolls? C'mon man!!!
I still don't think you realize how funny it is that you don't think my opinion means anything while you, a white person in Canada, has such strong opinions that you think are meaningful. You don't see how silly that is?

Re: 2016 Presidential Election
anyways back to the topic. I know people in the NDL are not the people i generalize in my comments. but i do worry about the population. People say they ignored the "working white class" which may be the case.. for the first time in history. White people for a little while got ot see what other ethnicities go through on generational scales. Working white class were losing jobs unfairly, this that and everything else, and got upset their voice wasnt heard. Sounds like blacks, spanish, asians, etc.
It's worrisome. This election was won by the rural white towns with no education. Trump is looking to appoint anti climate change people into powerful positions. Ben Carson might be Secretary of Education. This isn't good. If their views are the opposite of Musks, how can they possibly be good?
life might be the same for us in 4 yrs.. but thats cause i think every one of us is white.. we dont know what the problems are for those who are about to experience it. you're not being called the N word walking down the street. You're not the one being called a terrorist..
Iunno, I'm just worried.

Why does advancement in technology have to end when natural energy manufacturing revives?nick wrote:anyways back to the topic. Generating our own energy through shale, coal, etc means jobs. We have people that want to work, that don't have the opportunity.
"If their views are opposite of Musks, how can they possibly be good?" Seriously? Musk is a forward-thinker and entrepreneur that is driven to provide something incredible for everyone. But that doesn't mean his vision aligns with economic needs for sustainability. People need jobs right now. These people don't have incredible tech skills to help support Elon's initiatives. Even if they did, he's not even making a dent in the supply/demand of jobs. The views don't align because the views aren't based on the same principles.

Jean-Claude Juncker - Jean-Claude Juncker is a Luxembourgish and European politician who has been President of the European Commission, the executive branch of the European Union, since 2014.
Speaking in Berlin about the future of Europe sometime around 2050, Juncker had to ad lib, admitting that his speech had been written with the assumption that Hillary Clinton would be the victor of the US presidential race.

I'm not, in South Dakota for a wedding. Went to the Oregon game earlier this year and nearly made a trip out to watch us get our ass beat by Ohio State. Glad I decided against that one...GeorgesGoons wrote:You going to the game this weekend?sixpackdan101 wrote:Nick is so salty, it's great for the boards.

Maybe you should do some research on Canada's treatment of its Native American populations when you step down off your high horse.nick wrote:btw the racial divide happened in the 1800s when u had slaves and continued to now when theres never been a time where blacks were on par with whites in america. Unless lynching is cool (1970s?).. and then all the race related incidents since then.
But dont worry white guys from the south will tell me how shits ok

Re: 2016 Presidential Election

Re: 2016 Presidential Election
My one and only post...
Not all Trump voters are racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. The vast majority aren't. But nearly everyone who is racist, sexist, and homophobic voted for Trump. Trump made it OK to do those things publicly with his hateful rhetoric. I pray that he was going overboard to win votes, but.... We won't know. What I do know is his VP is a nut job (see his views on "conversion therapy" for gays), he is going to put two dangerous people in the Cabinet (Rudy and Newt), and that one party now controls the Executive and Legislative branches (not to mention will get to likely name TWO justices to the Judicial). You never want one party to fully control the executive and legislative, as you lose some of the power of checks/balances.
Trump's campaign made it OK to be openly racist and homo/zenophobic, and that scares me. The only thing we can hope for now is that human decency wins out over the hate. The people posting nasty things and saying nasty things are the fringe minority, just like bad cops, but they get the most attention. Weed them out and deal with them, that's all we can do.
This campaign truly showed how divided this nation is. We need to heal, and badly. We also need MUCH better candidates in 2020, because these two were utter garbage.
