Nope not yet. Just need to get thru the first 2 months. That has done me in the past couple of years. We will really see in 2 more sims when I play Dave. It was nice to see some runs put up on the board for us.BigRy wrote:and for George to declare this season a success.wdoupis wrote:After seeing the box scores I really expected Nick to have unleashed at least 1 Page of insults at Shel by now
Poor Erik White. Throws 8 innings of 1 hit ball and gets the loss. Had 1 walk and 11 Kc's to boot. 6th inning did him in, walked the lead off guy and then allowed a double. Next guy grounds out and runner from 3rd scores.
Michael Phillips went nuts though. We'll get back Page in 2 sims to play DH. Marc Moody is back half way thru this sim. Trying to decide whether to use him or Garcia as the closer and the other as a set up guy. Right now the plan is to list both as closers and secondarily use them as set up guys as well till one guy shows he is ready to take the reigns.

Re: 2044-Season Thread-The Bear Necessities!
I hope Page kills it for you as he was the only one besides Muliro who showed up in the playoffs for me.

I am hoping so as well!

Re: 2044-Season Thread-The Bear Necessities!
Nope, intentionally. He won't take his demotion like a man so I've got one more week to decide if he has a spot in my closer free pen.DRWebs wrote:Dak inadvertently waive Weiland?

Also from the realms of weird in the early going...
LA signed Dan Becker, a career SP, to a 2/24 deal to serve...as a setup man. They also signed Jose Morales, a career RP, to a 3/30 deal to serve as...the staff ace. They also have Todd Miller, seemingly another career RP, in their rotation as well. So far so good for Morales with a 1.72 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 15+ innings so maybe D91 will be executive of the year!

Opening day trivia...
How many diamonds in the rough can you name from active rosters?
Disclaimer: I set the cut off to be players drafted at or after pick 200; generally the 5th round for most drafts. This was quickly done so there may be a name or two that has a chance for inclusion, don't get butt hurt if your favorite player is missing

Re: 2044-Season Thread-The Bear Necessities!
What was that one RP name that was drafted in the 1st round that had an excellent Knuckle Ball and 1 other pitch? Who drafted him and where is he now?

Re: 2044-Season Thread-The Bear Necessities!
LA I think. Mejia. He hit potential but lost velocity due to an injury and is a closerGeorgesGoons wrote:What was that one RP name that was drafted in the 1st round that had an excellent Knuckle Ball and 1 other pitch? Who drafted him and where is he now?
Re: 2044-Season Thread-The Bear Necessities!
Knucklers can supposedly start with only two pitches but we've never had a really good one
Re: 2044-Season Thread-The Bear Necessities!
Morales is missing that needed third pitch, would be surprised if he succeeds as a starter long term.DRWebs wrote:Also from the realms of weird in the early going...

This will also kill his chances of topping the career saves list by the time he's done.

I don't think that is him. I remember him being listed as a top 10 prospect at one time and Mejia was never listed as a top prospectUuaww wrote:LA I think. Mejia.
