I could not agree more with both of your statements. Now, what a great game but I am going to have a heart attack
Re: College Basketball 2016-2017
I thought that shot from Walton was money. He's been a great player, hate to see him miss his last shot but gotta cash them checks
Re: College Basketball 2016-2017
West Virginia is just fun to watch. Such a unique team with the pressure. Gotta be so tough for a point guard to keep his composure

Gonzaga played good D but that was a terrible final possession for West Virginia.

Re: College Basketball 2016-2017
The absolute worst final possession ever. With like 35 seconds that kid was just obsessed with taking the shot himself and dribbled the entire clock out. Just awful ending for a team that plays so hard

As soon as they crossed half court it was Carter do or die, which is a shame because 2 of his other guys had clean looks and all they needed was a relatively simple pass

Re: College Basketball 2016-2017
they hadn't got good looks all game, they were taking terrible forced jumpers anytime they couldn't get a push off a turnover.
WVU shot 26% for the game, just crazy bad in the half court all game so that last possession shouldn't be surprising

I actually don't hate this guy... a lot of truth to what he says (between the BS/hype).

Re: College Basketball 2016-2017
It wasn't surprising. You could see it coming as soon as they crossed half court. It just sucked because that game deserved a better ending than roughly 42 seconds of dribbling with a rebound in the middle. Credit to Gonzaga, it was good defense, but it just would have been more fun to have a better ending.DRiccio21 wrote:they hadn't got good looks all game, they were taking terrible forced jumpers anytime they couldn't get a push off a turnover.

i never really listened to him before outside of the clips.
but i love him after watching that.
the marketing stuff is whatever, thats energy wasting shit to suck in the fools who get emotional and say 'i hate that guy' as that energy leads to his endorsement deals.
he's obviously pushed his kids, he believes in them, his message about not worrying what others think is how everyone should think. that mentality is how you achieve great things in my opinion. i say it all the time but 'being liked' is the most overrated thing on the planet. people get so soft and sacrifice so much because they are concerned if people are going to 'like' them afterwards. do what you believe in and believe in yourself and you can achieve things that others will eventually love about you after you're gone even if they hate you for it now. as long as you're working hard and don't harm anyone else i'm all for it. the talking about other peoples kids, while i get its attention seeking, is a little below the belt. but we all have different moral compasses.
good on the dude for putting his family in a better place.
the fact people spend time listening to him or even care is just beyond comprehension tho.

Re: College Basketball 2016-2017
I'm not a fan. For every Earl Woods and Richard Williams, who had extremely successful kids who they pushed and groomed from birth, you have a Todd Maranovich dad who did more harm than good for their child. His kids are good ballplayers but I don't understand why even create more pressure and alienate them. Seems like he is setting them up for failure. JMO

Re: College Basketball 2016-2017
This. Plus if dad taught them everything, there is no fucking way he could be undefeated one-on-one, he can't play defense!BFiVL wrote:I'm not a fan.
