Rewarded fairly for 3.2 seconds of effort put into a draft list if you ask me

Disagree. If we are going to do an in-game draft, there should be some amount of trust we can put in our scout. And it's not a my scout vs another scout, I'm certain every scout does this.

In-game draft is the worst.

Sheltown is 6th in the AL in runs scored, and 4th in the AL in runs given up.

Sheltown has the 9th best record in the AL. :?

Completely agree. Blows my mind the type of guys my scout (and all scouts I've had in the past) try and go after in the draft.

Disagree with what Shel? That clicking ask scout for all rounds when you're the 9th pick then hitting export deserves to be rewarded with anything besides junk? The game, even before our in game draft, always drafted garbage after the 2nd round or so because no one made in depth lists like most of us do now. You and Ted and even Reign always said the draft rarely mattered after the board drafted players.

All I am saying is he could have simply dragged 8 names that his scout saw wiith much higher potential over to his draft list and went to round 2 and click ask scouting director for remaining rounds and problem solved, no 46 potential.

I just answered that.

I should be able to click 1 button and trust that my scout will not take an SP in a round when there are 50+ other SPs with higher potential.
dusters06 wrote:You and Ted and even Reign always said the draft rarely mattered after the board drafted players.
It didn't, but that was pre OOTP 17 when it really didn't matter. The game is different now.

You're right, he could have. And he should also trust that with the 9th pick overall, he's going to get someone better than 46 potential even by just clicking 1 button.

Actually would have probably been more fairly rewarded by just leaving it blank and saving myself 3.2 seconds

The game is only different because we don't do board drafts....and Bernie is proof of this. He asked his scout, he got garbage. Just like '15 and apparently just like '17. I do enjoy the board drafts, and wouldn't ever be opposed to going back to them, but I find it comical that someone puts in exactly 0 effort to have a good draft and then wonders why it doesn't end up anything more than garbage. Yes. The game should handle it differently, but unfortunately it doesn't....so what do you expect

apparently i had a solid draft. I make sure to remove all low/vl pitchers, relievers, and impossible signees so its usually p good.

effort, fine, I hear what you are saying. However, why do scouts draft guys they see as 45 pot in round 4 and then in round 6 take a guy they see as 70 pot?

The Beef are happy with this draft.

Drafted SP Ed Lake in the 1st. OSA has him rated as 20/74 while my scout has him 20/80. Looks like he will be a solid #1 or #2 pitcher when his time comes.

Drafted MR/SP Michael Campbell in the supplemental draft. OSA has him 20/76 and my scout has him 20/46. Has very low stamina (28) so a life in the bull pen is where he'll end up. May one day set up for the closer

Drafted LF Bubba Brewer in the supplemental draft. OSA and my scout has him rated as 20/74. May end up being a 20 HR guy when he reaches maturity.

Drafted 3B Carlos Pantoja in the 2nd round. OSA has him at 20/76 and my scout has him at 20/72. Not sure where he is going to fit in with the Beef with Anthony King possibly getting called up next season. He could definitely end up being a 20 HR / 15 SB guy once he makes it to the MLB.

Drafted SP Hector Yanez in the 2nd round. OSA has him 20/73 and my scout has him 20/62. Could be a back end starter.

Drafted CF Alajandro Sanchez in the 3rd round OSA 20/74 and my scout 20/69. May end up being a good CF'er with the glove and bat.

Drafted CF David Nichols in the 4th round. OSA 20/72 and my scout 20/74. Not much in the hopes he makes it to the MLB, unless its on a team like Richmond or Montreal ;)

Drafted C Erik Tinker in the 5th round. OSA 20/70 and my scout 20/62. He'll probably wont make it past AA/AAA.

Drafted 2B Tom Wilkinson in the 6th round. OSA 20/68 and my scout 20/73. If he makes it to the MLB it'll be because of his defense and speed.

Drafted CF Clarence Sawyer in the 7th round. OSA 20/65 and my scout 20/72. Just like Wilkinson, will make it to the MLB because of his defense and speed.

All in all, I liked this draft for the Beef. I had a 200+ player list that I pasted to the 6th round. Next year I will put in more effort and try to come up with a 500 player list (all the way down to the 30 rated players). I took out all the very low INT/WE/Leadership guys. Just have a couple more to sign and this draft will be done for the Beef.
