I agree with you George but such is life in baseball. Pirates would never get the OK to spend Yankee Red Sox Dodger type of cash. All owners are different some spend some don't. All I am saying is that if your owner is an economizer like mine take your chances spend go in the hole and struggle. If he has open pockets spend and get a bail out from him. No way shape or form do I think the league should bail him out but I don't think we should be sour if his owner does and some don't.

I do agree to a point but to say we are owners isn't all true because we cant make the budget so that is where we run into issues since the guy running the budget controls what we get we should be able to receive what he gives.

But we can't be fired, we have final say on all personnel decisions and the biggie...we can move the entire team to another city without input from the owner. I think those alone have us acting like owners way more than GMs.

I also don't think the owner has anything to do with setting the budget, the budget always nearly mirrors your previous season's revenue total. Though the owner does have a say in changing the budget once the preseason starts.

That is correct, be successful and make revenue and you have a high budget. Do it for a sustained period it goes even higher. We are the owners and control everything that will happen.

Also, this whole owner cash thing is completely dependent on debt. I do not care what kind of owner you think you have. Go 100 million in debt next year and watch your cash sky rocket. It is a failsafe OOTP built in to prevent guys from never being able to return from a hole and we decided it is not fair (which its not) and we adjusted it

I hate that one team can get $50+M bailout and another team gets $1M bailout with similar debt. As a GM you can make the choice to go be a GM for a Boston type or Miami type organization knowing the money restrictions you will eventually face. We had zero choice in what kind of "owner" we wanted to work for

I hate that one team can get $50+M bailout and another team gets $1M bailout with similar debt. It has been said 100 times though, please show me which team with "similar debt" is getting 50mil compared to one team with "similar debt" getting 1mil. It does not happen that way
