Winter Topic- Draft Date and Minors Start Date

Hey guys, I was just going to throw out a winter meeting topic out there. I think we should do the draft during the offseason. Everyone agrees that the offseason is pretty boring and this would be a way to give it some more excitement. We could start it when preseason begins and do an in-game draft, boards or however the majority wants to do it. Also since the draft would be before the season starts I think we should start R ball and SA ball when the season starts like the other minors. I believe that starting the lower two levels of the minors when the others start would let our prospects develop more.

I didn't know that was a synonym.

If this for get changed we would need to move the rule 5. I can see the excuses now.

I'm usually for realism, but I personally wouldn't really care all that much about moving the draft to the offseason, and I'd love the idea of having some draft talk/immersion in the offseason. But I see 2 potential issues here.

1. If we're not doing a board draft, then we're not really creating much immersion

2. This one change would seem to necessitate a lot of other, bigger changes that I'm not sure we want to do

I think we should get the draft back on the boards before this could even be considered. A board draft during the off-season could definitely be exciting but how does that change finances? Draft budget and such doesn't get locked in until this current sim. I think this could have an impact on signing FA and such.

i want maximum amount of time to figure out if guys are good. freezing scouting reports doesn't interest me.

Agree 100%.
We use it in my other league and I love it.
It is like having a board draft, but it uses a timer and it picks automatically if the team does not have a list setup and their timer ends.

It is the best of both worlds in my opinion.
I just don't have time right now to get working on getting stats lab working for us.
