His season is over, so it is over a season. Like I said - fishy math! You have to support this, this was your Byrd approach forever.

I don't see the Byrd tie in, but I'd imagine there have been guys hurt in the 1st couple of games of a season with better WAR/game numbers.


I'm trying to out-Dak Dak on this one, I don't like my chances.

I recall lots of conversations about Byrd's "pace" and my argument was usually regression to the mean while yours was just extrapolating the pace.

I'm on the extrapolating to the pace train now! He's clearly got the best WAR/gm this season (for hitters at least since I checked that) - so I'll just take that. Stipulation - minimum 20 games. Stats of convenience!

1. Those arguments were not after 20 games, it was usually closer to 100+...do you even sample size?

2. The seasons we were having those arguments, Byrd always maintained his pace and didn't regress to the mean. I remember like it was yesterday!!! You'd always argue that he'd regress back to his Indy numbers, and he never did during the seasons we argued, he always outpaced his Indy numbers in the 2 seasons we had those debates.

Noooo, he was really good in Richmond but got hurt for the year after like a month. It was after Ted got him that he went to shit.

One of my favorite things is when you get an email from a player that says something along the lines of "This team isn't very good. Please trade me." You then go look at them and find out they're one of the worst performer's.

Backup catcher/1B/DH whatever position gets him into the lineup, Alberto Bravo hitting a cool .414 so far this season.

He has even bumped Mens to the bench while he works through his psychological issues in his rookie year.

Not bad for a 50 overall rated fella.
