'19 has gone full MLB...we are still in the '80s MLB.

Probably doesn't help with these contract demands, but I'm still on Team Restart, been on it for a while.

How was '18 that different with budgets though? It was always based very closely to your revenues and now that Billy does it manually, it still is.

Maybe 19 takes in other factors when figuring out your budget? No clue personally.

19 basically does budgets the same as 18 but it deducts money you pay in revenue sharing from next seasons busget which is stupid since you are already paying it in cash

Billy is doing '19 budgets manually to reflect the same basic way '18 did it.

I guess my point is that it's not a new issue to '19, the low budgets. But the issue is obviously much bigger now with player demands being so high.


And then the real issue is how in the world is Boston's revenue that low to have a budget that low? How is BOston not at or near the top with a $200mil budget, i have no clue.

I don't think it's doom and gloom. But, IF the talk about how teams not spending money is partially to blame then we are going to continue being in trouble. I don't care how much you preach about this there are just some teams that are not going to spend money.

We revenue share to help smaller market teams stay somewhat competitive.
I think I get what you are saying though. If they don't want to spend, why should they receive more $?

I mean we are there now in the MLB in terms of player demands but completely decades behind in our budgets/payroll availability.

if u add up the demands it comes to $765,999,842.00 . if u divide by 30 teams thats $25,533,328.07/team avg. iunno if we added everyones available money it would add up.

demands are now at $1,159,220,080.00. To meet the demands everyone would need 38m free.

i feel like the #s are just tiers tho and once someone signs theyll drop like a domino effect.

has to be based on availability cause relievers want like 7-9m. seems normal. We dont have a plethora of elite hitters so when they get on the market they want all the moneys
