Facemask Penalities
accept them cause your opponent is being too aggressive! Last season, the clippings and holdings were an ea problem...facemasks are a you problem! Feast or famine with the fumbles and facemasks.....

I actually love the new gameplan modes...they come in handy and can't really be overused because it will bite you in the ass for sure!

than just dont take the risk right? I stopped being too aggressive cause of it. So are they not suppose to take the fumble? Just saying

Re: Facemask Penalities
I know this debate is another thread..but I did notice the "skewedness" in Heisman level. AA seemed to be just right with the risk/reward. And I couldn't agree more with Champ...take the conservative approach..plus that helps against guys who are more aggressive and forces more penalties and fumbles on their endHart4Heisman wrote:pounddarock wrote:100% agree...holding too...ChampDizzle wrote:accept them cause your opponent is being too aggressive! iunno about that man... after playing about 5 or 6 games.... it seems like Nasty was right. seems like the risk/reward is skewed.

I absolutely loathe this fucking camera angle and how you can't tell when they throw the ball.

Re: Facemask Penalities
As usual, EA ridiculously overdoes it with the agressive and conservative.
The facemasks on agressive are just ridiculous.

Re: Facemask Penalities
Exactly. I have seen guys on aggressive and they do that lame "rip the ball" animation non stop with no face maske for an entire game. Only to fumble later on.Hart4Heisman wrote:what im saying is the positives (fumble,INT,great jump of the ball) happen way more than the negatives (or so it has been in my experiences)
Very lame addition in my opinion.

I agree that ea dropped the ball on this one. This is my least favorite part of 2010!

Re: Facemask Penalities
After my bajillion-teen facemask game last night, I was able to trump it around 2am. 5 consecutive facemask penalties to OPEN the game.
I'm starting to think that it's not just that setting, but that the whole aggressive/conservative setup. I had a guy come back on me last night and tie me with :30 sec left. Assuming he'd be a d-bag and onside kick it, I go onside return. He kicks it deep real quick and I start to bust it up the sideline... fumble! He kicks a FG to win it. Thinking back on that, I'm just wondering if I should have adjusted to an conservative run setup prior and if those A/C (new abbr, run with it) settings are there to help control the randomness in crucial times.

Re: Facemask Penalities
the aggressive is useful in very small doses. Ive used the aggressive setting in certain situations and have not been burned to badly by face masks and have been rewarded a few times. Its a strategy that has to be used sparingly and in certain situations.
Re: Facemask Penalities
I've gotten plenty of fumbles by setting it to aggressive hitting and or using user big hits with the other fumble setting on conservative / wrap up...Might have 1 face mask penalty in all games played so far by my teams. I'm with Champ on this one
Re: Facemask Penalities
BigRy is right here guys. If you just put everything on aggressive and leave it then deal with the consequences of playing so aggressive the whole game. If you use it sparingly then in my case, its came out in my favor usually.BigRy wrote:the aggressive is useful in very small doses. Re: Facemask Penalities
I haven't touched the damn aggressive/conservative crap...but if I see "user jump snap" one more time...
Also, I will accept all penalities which result from the agressive setting.

Re: Facemask Penalities
i've only played 1 game, but i have NO IDEA what you guys are talking about
is this a setting you hit during the game? cause i do remember getting hit with 2 straight facemasks against mike in our game

Funny thing is I have forced 9 fumbles, 7 came when it was not on aggressive.

Re: Facemask Penalities
Agreed. I played Doley the other night and he must have been set to agressive on all counts casue there was player strip animation and a facemask peanalty everyother play.BIGmike wrote:I haven't touched the damn aggressive/conservative crap...but if I see "user jump snap" one more time...Also, I will accept all penalities which result from the agressive setting.
Fair warning to all involved. I will accept them from now on. There is no risk/reward at all if you choose to go agressive and we decline the penalties due to the overdoneness in the game.
That is all.
BTW...he owned me that game for alot of reasons.
If we rematch, Ill be ready for him.
Re: Facemask Penalities
lol, the simple thing would be just dont pick anything and play the football game? like how last year apparently you could pick "run" or "pass" off the snap and i still dont know how people did it
Re: Facemask Penalities
Up or down on the right analog stick right after the snap.nick wrote:lol, the simple thing would be just dont pick anything and play the football game? like how last year apparently you could pick "run" or "pass" off the snap and i still dont know how people did it

Re: Facemask Penalities
I agree as well...i have played one gm and got stripped 4 times and finally figured out why he was getting face mask penalties left and right(tried to strip me every time i touched the ball)...I too will accept all penalties due to that kind of aggressiveness!!!
