Funny how you pick and choose when you think sample size is importantnick wrote:Blackshaw is currently on pace for 6.9 WAR which would be a career year by +2 WAR .. and Roberts accumulated 22WAR in his career as a 12th rounder..

Also funny how you go back on your comments and change it from he's going to be a star to he's been an average MLer which is good for a 12th rounder
What's that thing Shel always says again?
Re: 2065 Season Thread.... The Greek Freaks!!!!!!
Thanks for the pro tip on Alberto Gil

averaging 2 WAR/yr isnt "average mlber"..DRWebs wrote:Funny how you pick and choose when you think sample size is importantnick wrote:Blackshaw is currently on pace for 6.9 WAR which would be a career year by +2 WAR .. and Roberts accumulated 22WAR in his career as a 12th rounder..

2018 MLB there were 5 guys with 2 WAR and they were like 90-95th in WAR which in a 30 team league would be the teams 4th best hitter..
but ya, "average mlber"..
Re: 2065 Season Thread.... The Greek Freaks!!!!!!
and while Shel does have a phrase for me.. when me and him trade we aint trying to rip each other off like it seems every trade you do with others amounts too.. Good thing the low control rating issue has been brought up.. dunno how you'll ever trade another prospect.

Learning new stuff everyday...Makes sense to use MLB 2018 data for a OOTP league instead of say using actual NDL league data. And oh yeah, since when did MLB introduce DHs to both leagues?nick wrote:averaging 2 WAR/yr isnt "average mlber"..![]()

might wanna get educated on the WAR system.

in 2064, 2 WAR was good for batters 126-130 which in fact would be pretty average
Buttt let's not let forget you running from your own words and trying to deflect the original statement that you claimed Roberts was going to be a star and constantly reminding us of how good he was going to be. I'm sure Stephen A and Skip Bayless are your idols with the amount of crazy dumb shit that comes out of your mouth

Re: 2065 Season Thread.... The Greek Freaks!!!!!!
126/30 = 4?
so 5 of your 9 batters were below 2...
"average NDLer"

Re: 2065 Season Thread.... The Greek Freaks!!!!!!
4/9 above 2.0 = ~45%
5/9 below 2.0 = ~55%
av·er·age
/ˈav(ə)rij/
noun
noun: average; plural noun: averages
1. a number expressing the central or typical value in a set of data, in particular the mode, median, or (most commonly) the mean, which is calculated by dividing the sum of the values in the set by their number.
9 Starting line-up hitters per squad, 270 starting line-up hitters in the league
The median would be 135, so, how is 126-130 not close to "average"? Strictly discussing hitters since there's no point comparing hitter and pitcher WAR.
5/9 below 2.0 = ~55%

Re: 2065 Season Thread.... The Greek Freaks!!!!!!
ok cool now find the average for 13 man batting rosters over 30 teams instead of 9.. I merely said as a 2 WAR he would be the 5th best hitter on the team (9 man lineup) but theres still 12-13 roster spots for batters.dakshdar wrote:4/9 above 2.0 = ~45%

so 13*30 = 390.. is 120 the average of 390? lol unlikely.
Re: 2065 Season Thread.... The Greek Freaks!!!!!!
Also did u compare average in numbers to average in baseball production like they're correlated?
1,2,3 average is 2.
If theres 3 hitters it doesnt nessecarily mean they're great, average and bad.

I'd agree with this. My scout seems to hate pitchers but absolutely adores catchers, and I don't get it.wdoupis wrote:I had a scout for 10 seasons that never saw a blue SP once. He always underrates them...
Although my previous scout was the exact same, so I don't really know.

Speaking of scouts, Jerry's must really hate Raul Leon for him to try to trade him twice
