Re: Facemask Penalities
i thought it was something crazy with gm, but when i when i realized what it was...OH HELL NO!!!! LOL!!!
Re: Facemask Penalities
I just played Penguin and there was only one face-mask the entire game, on a tackle by an offensive linemen after he picked me off. There was also only one holding penalty, and that was late.
There were also none of the weird animation "rip" fumbles; the only fumbles were a big hit by a DE on a running QB, and a muffed punt.
I'm not sure about him, but I went normal for almost the entire game, except for having big hits and D-line on aggressive. So it looks like if you don't abuse it, you won't get burned by it.

YOU GOT DOMINATED. loltexasfan4444 wrote:Agreed. I played Doley the other night and he must have been set to agressive on all counts casue there was player strip animation and a facemask peanalty everyother play.BIGmike wrote:I haven't touched the damn aggressive/conservative crap...but if I see "user jump snap" one more time...Also, I will accept all penalities which result from the agressive setting.
Fair warning to all involved. I will accept them from now on. There is no risk/reward at all if you choose to go agressive and we decline the penalties due to the overdoneness in the game.
That is all.
BTW...he owned me that game for alot of reasons.
If we rematch, Ill be ready for him.

Re: Facemask Penalities
the problem was the last years game had holdings and clippings too much when that is uncontrollable. So there was a rule that only accept 1 per half. So just mention this cause people will try to use "sportmanship" as a deterrent to accept penalties, but in this case it will force people to stop trying to strip all the time.VeniVediV1ci wrote:+1DRiccio21 wrote:i dont understand why you wouldn't be accepting the penalties to begin with

If so, I NEVER once heard of that being implemented. Guess I need to brush up on the NDL rules page, lol.

Re: Facemask Penalities
It was more of an unwritten rule and it might have been the season before. It was just a sign of sportsmanship because it was ea's doing and not the player. Kind of like when they kept calling unsportsmanlike conduct penalties when you did nothing.shel311 wrote:Was this really a rule???ChampDizzle wrote:the problem was the last years game had holdings and clippings too much when that is uncontrollable. I dont know. I never thought there was a problem with too many holds or clipping calls. And I definitely missed the memo on the unwritten 1 per half rule.

Re: Facemask Penalities
There is no rule.
I say we shut them all off and just play the damn game. To many fumbles, to many penalties, to many injuries.
All this new crap is giving me a headache and now I am venting like Beefy because I just want to put the damn game in and play!!!

Re: Facemask Penalities
I know i'm not gonna use that stuff.
But i don't care if guys do. I mean, it does suck cause it's overdone and not realistic, but from what i've noticed it doesn't give an unfair advantage.
It seems the facemask to fumble ratio is pretty standard. I see 3 or 4 facemasks for every fumble, so I can live with losing a fumble or 2 if you're gonna get 6 or 7 facemasks, lol.
It's just not realistic at all.

damn, complete opposite for me.
I've never seen either team fumble more than twice in 1 game.
I've gotten a facemask or 2 immediately after turning that shit on, then i turn it right off. When i'm on offense, i've had a couple of games where my opponent gets 4 or 5 facemasks, but the fumbles aren't so bad for me so far.

Re: Facemask Penalities
I have played in multiple games where I have seen over 10 Facemask penaltys in each game.
