i don't think its wrong that you want to call him out or think he's being contradictory... he is being a hypocrite.

Yea, at the end of the day, this is really the only point i'm making about Lebron/Pop/Kerr, just pointing out their hypocrisy.

I certainly don't think they owe us anything and they can speak on what they want and not speak on what they want. But we certainly agree that they are absolutely being hypocritical based on their previous comments regarding the need to speak out on injustices.

It's less of an expectation i have for them to do something, and more so just pointing out that they're not doing that thing they said they'd do.

i just don't see any issue with it other than maybe you put too much into what people say. i don't think anyone is saintly or holier than thou. when he does good things i say good on ya when he does shitty things i don't get surprised by it. i'm sure lebron does plenty of shitty things that wouldn't live up to my moral standards...but he doesn't owe me anything so i don't care

Problem I have with Lebron and the rest of these celebrities. They are given a platform to speak and people listen because of who they are. A lot of the time they are completely wrong but people believe them at their word because they said it. This is one of the reasons Chuck was my favorite basketball player of all time. He said he shouldn't be your role model. That takes balls to say something like that. He could have lost a lot of fans by that comment alone (he may have, don't remember).

it will be interesting to see if he's able to progress into a shot creator/maker in the postseason when the ball is in his hands and its more half court. i'd assume in 2-3 years he'll be on that level like it took Lebron.

my .02

1) always do whats right, regardless of consequences

2) understand your priority tiers. if Biz> morals then make the biz decision. if family is bigger than morals then make the family decision, if your values are #1 then always take the higher stance on moral issues. know your tiers before hand so when situations arise you know if you should hit the enter button on that tweet and how much you'll regret it in the future. if you tiers are aligned with your actions you probably can live with the results at the end of the day regardless of the negative impacts

3) you don't always have to be involved or speak on every topic. it doesn't make you a bad person for sitting out a debate that could negatively impact you. its so absurd to think these guys should be speaking out about every moral/social issue there is. there are literally millions of things happening daily that we could be outraged about. if we expect everyone with a voice to speak up on every one of them that the internet decides to make the topic of the day we'd never get anything done.

4) if you sleep with snakes, expect to be bitten. China is what it is, NBA knows the risks.

Agree with all of them... except on 3, you may not be a bad person, but you're certainly a hypocrite. You can't speak out about others and then go silent, or worse, when it's in your backyard. No one is expecting them to weigh in on the Twitter topic of the day, but there's certainly an expectation when they've been historically boastful and now they are at the center of the injustice.

The Pelicans have had the worst run of luck with injuries over the past 8 or so seasons possibly in all of American sports.

It's pretty amazing how many times they've led the league or finished top 2 or 3 in games missed due to injuries.


I was so excited for this season, all of it gone.
