Now that is great information and also just one aspect of the game but I understand 100% and makes sense of why its harder for a new person to find their way.

The only way for immersion to pick back up is for guys to post about their teams and players and guys actually respond. If that does not happen then it is what it is. Other than that what is the point of restarting? If you do not like your situation now draft new guys, make trades, sign dudes and that is your restart. If you want to move your team then move your team.Roggie wrote:Never understood the reason to want to restart an OOTP league. The history of years upon years of play is what makes OOTP great. All a restart does is throw history away for a boost of interest for 5 seasons or so then back to normal, if not worse.
I am not stating to restart, but when guys argue about the history of the league, how often do you go back and look at that history?
Besides someone throwing a name out there about a guy that played 30 digital years ago and then someone going to look at said guy, do people really use that history that it is such a big deal to hold onto?
Again, I am not saying restart, I am in either way, but I am curious why guys hold on to the history idea so much.

It is not harder, it just takes time to learn the ins and outs of the game and come up with a plan and execute it. I joined the league in 2037 or 2038 so they were 25 seasons strong already.SmittyRocks7 wrote:Now that is great information and also just one aspect of the game but I understand 100% and makes sense of why its harder for a new person to find their way.

Yeah, if you are new to OOTP, it is going to take you a while to learn the ins and outs regardless if you are in a new league or an established league.
Neither situation is better unless you are joining a league where everyone is new to OOTP.

Sorry, I didn't present that well. I understand that there is a learning curve with really anything that you do. I'm more speaking to the league as a whole. From what I am gathering the real enjoyment is the interactive part of OOTP and the history. So a new player isn't really going to get the true enjoyment of OOTP until they're years in?

Re: 2069 Season Thread... The Herro We Needed
I'd say yes. I'm just now starting to vote for HoF in here since I feel comfortable with it now and knowing stats in this league. New league or established, it takes 5-10 seasons for me to really start to feel involved with it, no matter how many moves I make or don't make.SmittyRocks7 wrote:Sorry, I didn't present that well. From my part - it actually is kinda "Cool" to see players from when I joined the league getting on the HOF ballots... It has taken me quite awhile to really understand how OOTP works, and finally have some nice drafts, and actual (last year anyways) decent minor league teams. I admit that although I have a great understanding of baseball and played all my life, running a team in this league was a great eye opener. .. I've gotten my ass kicked and made some stupid decisions (yes, Luis Perez) ... but it is what it is .... i'd be pretty bummed to see a reset... and Ive been one of the worst teams for 15 season or so.

Hell ya dude, I've been in the league since 2044 and this is the first year where I knew every name on the ballot. It was a really nice feeling.JayGee wrote:From my part - it actually is kinda "Cool" to see players from when I joined the league getting on the HOF ballots... I really hope they fix this on 21. Just started on 20. Just keeps releasing dudes back. I’ll try one more time but if he gets booted again he is fair game in FA poolCnasty wrote:I think Steve Edson might have a problem...
