Re: NBA Thread
Ja is great but I'd take Zion over Ja. I am all for Ja winning ROY due to games played but Zion is better. I think Luka will have a better career than both of them though.

Re: NBA Thread
Crazy talk! Shooting outside of 5' Zion is mediocre at best. It appears he takes about 80% of all plays off if the ball is not coming his way, no crashing of the boards on either side of the ball unless he is the one shooting. It also appears he doesn't play great defense, he looks like he is trying to make up with explosiveness rather than getting his feet in position. But I am not a fan so take it for what you will.
Ja Morant is head and shoulders a better all around player.

Lol, oh George. I’d imagine George has not watched 4 quarters of Grizzlies basketball this year. All I can tell you is if 30 of the GMs has the #1 pick right now after what we have seen so far 30 out of 30 would take Zion and the Grizz would trade Ja and a pick to get Zion

Re: NBA Thread
4 quarters of Ja?
I'd set the O/U on number of Ja and Zion minutes combined for George at 13.5, and I'd probably settle in on that under.
But George doesn't actually think Ja is better. He's doing that thing where he says something dumb, then when someone points out he said something dumb, he says "Gotcha, I was just acting dumb."

Re: NBA Thread
If the game is on before 10 I can actually watch quite a bit. Watched the last half of the second quarter and most of the 3rd quarter last night before passing out in bed with the TV on.shel311 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 10:48 am4 quarters of Ja?

As far as Ja Morant, probably only seen 2 or 3 games total time of him (quarter or 2 here and there). Having the NBA package it's easy to watch any and every game. Just cant stay up long enough to watch them, old people problems.

Re: NBA Thread
I love watching Ja, but for a little perspective, Zion's 2nd worst game of the season was last night, and that 2nd worst game of the season is better than Ja's averages.

Re: NBA Thread
I'll take a best of 7 series between NO and Dallas over everyone else.
That was the most fun game of the season that I've watched last night. Zion's power, KP's freakish ability, Luka making everyone look foolish, and Ball and Ingram playing very well. It was such a fun game.

Re: NBA Thread
Luka makes it look so easy, it seemed like he had a pretty solid game, next thing you know he has 36/16/10.
Mavs had a solid gameplan for Zion, and it obviously doesn't hurt to have Porzingas as part of that plan. Kleiber actually put up a decent fight, but he had really no shot on Zion. But the moment Zion turned towards the basket, Porzingas would come flying in. I imagine he blocked probably 5 or so of Zion's shots where Zion never saw him coming from behind.

Yeah, that's spot on. I've been watching Dallas and NO every chance I can get and last night was everything I hoped it would be. I imagine both get beat in the first round (assuming NO gets to 8), but they are certainly the 2 teams I'm rooting for.

George’s hate is simply balancing Shels man love.
It all evens out and it creates a good balance up in here.

Re: NBA Thread
Life comes at you quick.
After the break, we were 5.5 games back. In just 1 week, we got it down to 2 games and were the overwhelming favorite to get that 8 seed mainly due to remaining schedules.
Now another 1 week later, we're sitting at 12th, 5 games back of the 8 seed. Those playoff odds are on life support at this point, but we do have the easiest schedule remaining of all these teams going for that final spot. 5 games is a tough hill to climb though with 4 teams in front of you.

Re: NBA Thread
Also.. if you guys hadn't seen it, Steph is back tonight vs Toronto. Probably won't matter too much, but he's good for the game. I'd love to get a look at Curry - Thompson - Wiggins - Green with some of the guys that have been playing and developing like Paschall and Chriss. I thought Chriss may have been a lost cause, but the game seems to be slowing down a bit for him and he's showing the athletic ability that he was drafted for.

Re: NBA Thread
No hate, not enough hours in the day to have hate in my heart. I just don't think he is as good as Shel makes him out to be. For a guy that hangs out around the rim and 100% the most athletic guy in the NBA he just averages 6.8 boards a game and never crashes the boards. I see a lot of times where he takes multiple plays off offensively defensively. He gets caught watching the ball rather than defending his guy, he can get away with some of it as he is just unreal explosive to close in on his guy that just went by him. Just things I see. I cannot wait for him to get into the dunk contest though, dude is amazingly talented and has unreal leaping ability for how big he is.
