Can someone explain what is going on with the price of oil today?

Supposedly it crashed to negative...less than $0?

I'm so confused

I thought I read its negative because the producers are actually paying the BUYERS to take it off their hands because they have nowhere else to store it.

Feels like this would almost immediately put a couple of huge companies out of business quickly, no?

Just seems like this should have some enormous economic impacts...I just have no idea what though.

Thanks, that definitely makes it make a lot more sense.

That being said, it seems like until we re-open, this issue would persist each week or month or however when these contracts come up, which would seemingly be a hit to the tune of billions for these oil companies.

From my perspective of having no clue about that field, it just would seem like this would be something that would/could completely cripple an industry and certainly some companies within that industry, but it almost reads as just a little blip on the radar, no biggie.

The commentating was pretty funny though. At one point he said the block weight was lowered to prevent injuries...I laughed! And I wasn't high or didn't have a drink either. Just bored as hell

Crazy to me the marble olympics, but I have to admit, watching some of the video nick just posted, I watched way more than I thought I would.
