and that's not to say i like to scramble on pass plays, as I primarily run out of shotgun all game long anyways no matter what down or whatever because i throw so many damned interceptions, but i figured I might as well point that out

I suck and need to win more.
The guys that win are at the top or the draft
the guys that dont are at the bottom.

I know for a fact schoola is like me in this reguard. Nole is in the same boat. He won't run because he wants to be thought of as a good coach.
You all are basically saying If you drop 8 back I am running with it because thats the only way I can get the first down, and that's all that matters.
So run with your Qb guys because winning is way more important to you than it is me.

Im with you guys on this one..VeniVediV1ci wrote:10/10 on that response, bigree.BigRy wrote:However, if someone is in man or deep zones and all my guys are covered I will not throw it away. If this is a "sim league"-simply throwing the ball away would be unrealistic.
It is also the defenses responsibility to know the opposing qb has speed and could conceivable run for a first down, so in turn, it's the defenses responsibility to spy the qb.
Nolie,
you may get 100% on coach reports every season, but your answers suggest that you sacrifice realism in order to keep people from docking you points and i can't understand doing that, but we play to win the game and scrambling when it's open is something that should be encouraged because it happens in real life/it's stupid to try to pass when ppl are dropping 8 or 9 into zones/it may stop people from just dropping in zones all game long
Its different if your running around the end toward the sideline(that shouldnt happen very often in a 6min game), than when your stepping up in the pocket to take off because everyone on defense is 10 yards down the field..... It all about making adjustments...If someone takes off on you a couple of times, you should adjust your playcalling.....People shouldnt complain because they leave something open and their opponent takes advantage of it... Nothing is impossible to stop.. there is a playcall that covers every area of the field. Sometime you have to sacrifice one thing to get coverage somewhere else...that is FOOTBALL IMO
Its crazy that the people that think they are the most sim dont seem to understand that different defenses stop different things...this doesnt even take into account making plays user style... Sure sometime the computer doesnt react as fast as you would like to try and tackle the qb but you can always chase him down yourself..
alright enough on that...

I was saying run with the qb in Jest. Half the shit I say is in Jest.VeniVediV1ci wrote:dolemitesooner wrote:I suck and need to win more.

so basically you're complaining about never being at the top of the draft, yet your next post on this topic says you don't care about winning. Make up your mind, man, because open discussions about this hold a lot of weight no matter who says anything and that'll affect how people grade everyone
I will not run with the Qb on you in a game. I won't do it.
I said I need to win more because that's all that matters when it comes to the draft. Winning is by far more important than anything else. After all the bonus points given for bowls and what not your coaches reports just need to be average.
I am saying I need to get get better and win more games.
it don't really matter what I say either like I said earlier I never get good coaches reports.

Re: Any New Rules being added for NCAA 10?
naw i wont take it personally but i am also not nitpicking i am not talking about just being in a zone coverage it could also happen when your playing man. i am talking about ONCE THE BALL IS SNAPPED without even giving the play time to develop your already off and running with your qb. i dont give a fuck if you even drop 3step then take off fine but to sprint with your qb and even sometimes sprint even to set up the pass is fucking with the A.I. specially out of the shotgun. like i said if their is pressure once the ball is snapped then fine do what you gotta do but dont call me out as a whinny bitch because i think its cheese to mess with the a.i. so what i gave a bad example in my first post my badBigStimpin wrote:Weak. Drop 8 or 9 into coverage so there is literally no options available, then get upset when the middle parts like the Red Sea and your opponent takes what is given.oldschoola wrote:i got one for ya![]()
lets say its 3rd and 10, a guy is dropping back to pass and i have 3 defenders rushing with absolutely no pressure at all on the qb. he then scrambles for the 1st down instead of throwing the pass or throwing away. me personally would either throw it down field, run out of bounds or throw it away once out of the pocket. i have played guys in the past that have done so i will ding them in their coaches report for doing this. is this fair to dock them for doing that? i know some would argue that it would be realistic but i would disagree because of the way the ai is set up. now if i was blitzing thats a different story if a guy is getting chased.Uyy, you guys... you freaking kill me sometimes, if it aint one thing, god dammned it'll be another.
Now Oldschoola, don't take what I say personal at all, please, but you and anyone who agrees with you are wanting your cake and eating it too. Its easy to drop 8 or 9 into coverage without having to worry about any consequences. You want your opponent to concede and throw it away...I would never abuse it or do it by design but I'll take it every time. Ding me for that and I'll ding you for dropping 8 or 9 on every 3rd and long. Love you mean it, and anyone else who takes your stance.

Re: Any New Rules being added for NCAA 10?
okay, so i just played someone who did it EVERY play and i have to say, i've changed my vote
i still ran for 100 yards but it was SOOO annoying, to the point i didnt want to play after he did it on the first 8 plays of the game.
anyways, if it were a league game i would have been a pretty harsh judge, so i'm gonna retract my vote of not caring and go with MODERATION

I just played a guy who started the first few plays and had user jump the snap every time. I came up to the line on 3rd down...fake-hiked it twice and got the encroachment penalty for the 1st downBIGmike wrote:Guess the play or jump the snap?DRiccio21 wrote:okay, so i just played someone who did it EVERY play and i have to say, i've changed my vote

Re: Any New Rules being added for NCAA 10?
mike j. and i played the other day, and i did it on 2 plays, blowing up both of them. then we tinkered with it to see what would happen in certain situations. a sweep killed it when i guessed up the middle, but i can definitely see how this would be annoying because it caused crazy penetration.DRiccio21 wrote:choosing the side for the runBIGmike wrote:Guess the play or jump the snap?DRiccio21 wrote:okay, so i just played someone who did it EVERY play and i have to say, i've changed my vote

questions:
1. does it show the opponent when you guess the run correctly?
2. if you've got the defensive line on aggressive, will it jump the snap whether you push any buttons or not? anyone, as someone above mentioned, played with altering the snap count to see how often it might cause offsides?

Re: Any New Rules being added for NCAA 10?
Answer to Q1: Yes, kind of. You will see the strategy points accumulate at the bottom of the screen for "Play the Run" or "Play the Pass." However, you can actually get the "Play the Run" points, even if you choose the wrong side, but still make a TFL. This is all assuming that it works and you get the stop. If you choose and they still get positive yards, the points won't show up.
Honestly though, it's VERY obvious when someone does this.
As for part 2, I've never used Jump the Snap so I couldn't tell you.

Re: Any New Rules being added for NCAA 10?
what are these points we speak of?
how do you set certain players to aggressive and not others? i thought it was just the whole team type of thing.
the guy i played just ran a 'choose side' on EVERY play. again i ran for 100 yards so its not like it was hard to beat... its just annoying and not realistic and makes it feel like a lobby game

Re: Any New Rules being added for NCAA 10?
The points are awarded to the Season Showdown and your gamer profile.
When you receive points during the game (for instance, sportsmanship +10pts for kicking on 4th down), it shows on the screen near the bottom.
If you guess Run (left, mid, right) and get a TFL, you get +5pts to Strategy. If you guess Pass and get a hit that interrupts the reception or a pass deflection, you get +5pts to Strategy. (It shows up "Play the Pass" or "Play the Run") You can guess the run to the wrong side and still get points if you get the TFL though.
The 3 catagories that show up for the gamer profile, online, are Skills
(user tackle, tfl, pick, catch, etc)
Strategy
(guessing the run/pass and making a stop on that type of play; using the aggressive/conservative feature to produce the desired result)
Sportsmanship
(kicking on 4th, kneeing late in the game)
