For me its a right of passage. Just good Jabbing.wdoupis wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 11:30 am I’ve never understood this logic. Previous owner quits and new guy gets ripped for having a good team. Billys just sour that if someone took over his team no one would tell the new owner that they inherited a good team.

i felt like it was too long of a sentence to really be effective. but w/e.
Re: 2077 Season thread... Duck Duck Moose
It’s why I did a fire sale taking over Cincy. Sure I could’ve gone the rw or dparm route and milked the previous owners build but I didn’t want to hear it

Side note I’ve never seen a league where so many winning GMs bail so often.

In fairness, the last 2 being the big ones with Ted and Dub, they were probably in this NDL OOTP league for 15+ years combined.
It's not like they were around for a little while, so while maybe correct, it's skewed a bit.

Didn’t you take over a team that was coming off back to back 100 and 95 win seasons though?KShorey wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 5:39 amAnchorage, 3rd year, didn't take over OCD, so my statement doesn't change....no bragging rights for you for a long whileDParm wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 4:11 amWhat team do you run? I hope you are a team with at least 20 wins before deciding to jump on in. Are you Robin to his Batman?KShorey wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 3:39 amNot like I have a say in it and enjoy the back and forth as much as anyone, but you easily have a 7 season minimum before I would be willing to give you ANY credit for what that team does. Most new owners take over dumpster fires...you came into a well oiled machine. I'm sure we're all intrigued to see which way it goesDParm wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 11:37 pm Damn my boy, I feel like we need to up the ante dont you? Talk is cheap. and apparently youre rich on words haha! Try not to cry to bad come the end of the season. Ill give ya napkin to wipe the tears away. lmao he says offline league. Imma enjoy this one. So Im thinkin tattoos or something.... Something to let you know forever you came knocking on the wrong door my friend.![]()
Re: 2077 Season thread... Duck Duck Moose
That wouldn't change my statement. First move I made was trading the #1 prospect in the league...turned that move into the NL ROY last year, a top 50 prospect arm, and Bobby Lopez who should be a beast for years to come. Point is, I'd rather blow it up in day one and build from the ground but that's just the way I enjoy this game.
And honestly I couldn't tell you about previous years...but can tell you year 1 there was no FA money and we barely won 50 games. I'm assuming alot of expiring expensive contracts but haven't dug too deep.

He did but John quit strategically. That team was headed for a long rebuild because he was about to about -100 million and losing his top SPs.redwings8831 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 12:44 pmDidn’t you take over a team that was coming off back to back 100 and 95 win seasons though?KShorey wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 5:39 amAnchorage, 3rd year, didn't take over OCD, so my statement doesn't change....no bragging rights for you for a long whileDParm wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 4:11 amWhat team do you run? I respected this alot. You walked away from a really good team. Some guys like Kenny and i got really bad teams to start. It was fun to build them.

This is what I do every 5 or so years after a 8-10 year rebuild

I also don't blame newer owners for selling off their inherited team as it is even harder to rebuild unless you consistently have a top 3 pick and owners are super stingy with prospects.

Miami wins by year.

Re: 2077 Season thread... Duck Duck Moose
Yeah, that is the dilemma. If NY decided to sell off he would just get shit offers and make bad trades and then he gets ripped there.
