If this was a Trump win and ANTIFA/BLM was "protesting" that vote wouldn't have happened. It would have been burned down and there would have been far more violence.

These next 2 lines are exactly the kind of non-sense writing that drives people away from the media. You're taking the context of looting/shooting way out of line to make it sound like he justified and encouraged it. Then you follow it up with some outlandish crap... you might as well have said "The blood-thristy mob, dressed in tribal war gear, launched a savage attack up on the Capital. With guns drawn, they seized possession of the building, as they stalked their prey through the halls, eager to hunt them down and take their lives." GTFO with that shit.

You specifically brought up ANTIFA/BLM, not me. I just played along. You suggested the idea that ANTIFA/BLM would burn down the Capitol was some how as outlandish as the exaggerated statement. All I did was point to what actually happened. Everything I've stated is on tape. When there's a months of history of it actually happening, it's far from outlandish.

It took you all of 3-4 posts to try to lump me into a group with Nazis, fascists, anti-Semites and qanon fucksticks. Then you tried to use some bizarre "anteefuh" pronunciation, which I'm assuming was an attempt to insinuate a lack of intelligence, likely tied to my race.

Anyone that compares the the protests of yesterday to the protests of the summer and tries to downplay yesterday in comparison obviously shows the proof of white privilege . Protests against racial injustice that is met with force and a president that calls them "thugs" is not the same as protests about false claims of voter fraud that is met with little resistance and is condoned by that same president shows the white privilege.

But I am positive that it's the news media that is skewing all the events of yesterday.

Did someone say they are equal? I've already clarified my stance on this. Oh wait, is this one of those things where I denounce it, but then I get asked to denounce it again and when I say I already denounced and it and quote the denouncing, you tell me that I didn't denounce it and demand another denouncing? Reign and I have only spoken about the hypocrisy of the outcry here but not the same outcry for what happened during the summer by the media. Both instances were done by criminals and should be locked up. But here in Omaha, all the crime that took place during the riots, breaking into buildings and destruction of property, will not be brought up on charges the DA said. Could you imagine the outcry if the AG said they won't press charges for people that stormed (not looted or burned down) the capital. That is the hypocrisy that I am talking about. The left wants it one way for them but want it completely different when its on the other side, in the name of white privilege and social justice

This is where we are in society. "If you don't agree with me, then you're a Nazi, racist, etc" or "you're showing your white privilege!"

You know what bothers me when I reply to this... being dead serious here...
1.) I have no idea how you get from being able to have a rational conversation with someone, to being unhinged and irrational within a few exchanges, all within the course of a few years.
2.) I'm also not surprised to see it, much like I wasn't surprised to see it last time someone went crazy on here. The fact that I'm numb to it, bothers me because that means that it's expected and common.

I can admit that I'll be a smarmy/smug asshole, but I'm going to keep it above the belt, unless you really cross a line. The fact that Jason popped that off within just a few posts (and with his logic behind it being off-base at that), is exactly what I've been going on about regarding social media for a long time. (Ironically, he even threw it out as an issue in his rebuttal to me) This is much bigger than Trump.

I believe in a pretty simple standard... if I wouldn't say it to your face, 1:1, I won't type it here. That's why I don't go personal until someone really crosses a point. But I'm also a straight-shooter in person... if I think you're being an idiot, I'll tell you you're being an idiot.

I also think one of the dumbest things you can do is ignore someone simply because you don't agree with them (politics/or otherwise). Outside of Nick (again, not joking), I'll read the full posts from everyone, whether I agree with you or not. Because there's always a chance, no matter how small, that I may change my mind, have my eyes opened to a different POV or just learn something. When you cut out the voices you don't agree with, you only surround yourself in a echo chamber of things you want to hear. You lose perspective on things. You limit your ability to grow. You fall more inline with what is in your echo chamber.

Now imagine if there were companies out there that were building that echo chamber for you, dictating who you can hear, watch, or what you read?

Poor decision to go near a mob that's looting and burning down buildings, while trying to support racial inequality? Certainly. Scum of the earth? No. Poor decision to go to Washington when tensions are at epic proportions, while trying to support your political choice or patriotism? Certainly? Scum of the earth? No.

Even those that entered an area unlawfully, in either case, I'm not going to classify as scum. Now... when you talk about burning down buildings of small business owners in your own city, locking officers in a PD and trying to light it on fire, etc... that's scum.

1.) Comparing a behemoth social media platform to mom & pop bakery seems logical.

2.) Regulating the internet is far more complicated. This goes back to the point of publisher v platform.

3.) George is completely right in saying it should scare everyone. We just had the posts on parties. Consider this... if Trump is the fracture that completely breaks the GOP and the Democrats go on a massive run, what do you think happens? Do you believe it's just this happy utopia? No, when shit goes bad, fingers will be pointed. Is it the far left pointing at the moderates? Are they the ones that have social media and the news in their backpockets? Suppressing clear, direct hate speech is one thing... it makes sense to have a level appropriateness. But when you reach the point that you're curating content, influencing feeds, shadow-banning, or outright silencing based on your own interpretation, then that's quite dangerous.

I don't know how many times I'll say it, this isn't political. It's masked by politics and heavily intertwined, but the ramifications are far beyond it.
