CL Bishop was brought in from Seattle to hopefully give us that missing piece on the pitching side of things.
We will see new AAA Call-up Leroy Bailey who will start off in the LR spot, but he will end up getting some starts during the season and will be in the Emergency SP Role for his Secondary Role. He has the talent and the pitching repertoire to start some games.
With the addition of BL Bishop, Last year's CL, Gomez, moves to a Setup role.
Relievers MacCanish, Leon, Rivera and Yokoyama return to the Pen from last year.
The Official Lineup:
1. CF Hai-Feng Chu - He has elite speed (99) and is the perfect candidate for the leadoff position. He has good Contact and incredible Eye and Avoid K's to lead us off.
He has tremendous Defense and can play all 3 OF positions.
2. 2B Jeff Hardy - In his first full season in the majors and at 23 years old, he was a platinum stick award winner hitting .269 with 47 HRs. We are hoping he can continue his power hitting as it is much needed in this offense.
3. RF Mike Simon - He hit .219 with 25 HRs last season. He was the 2078 AL Divisional Playoffs MVP last season. He has plus speed (90) and good Defense (+5.8 ZR last season).
4. SS Brian Cline - One of the premier SS's in the league. He has great speed, great defense and good Contact, Eye and Avoid K.
5. DH Ernest Schmidt - One of the true vets on the team. He has been with us since 2068. He still has a decent bat hitting 24 HRs. This may be his last year with the team as he has a player option next season.
6. 2B Bennett Hunt - He was traded to us on 3/22/2077. He suffered a PCL injury on 8/7/2077. He sat out for 4 months and then had surgery and missed another 12 months, so all of last season. We are hoping he is back to full strength now and can get back to his .279 average years.
7. C Joaquin Rangel - The 2078 AL League Championship MVP. He possesses a good power swing and is an above average catcher.
8. RF Bobby Campbell - He hit .223 with 30 HRs last season for his 1st season in the Majors. We hope he continues to improve upon that as we could definitely use some power towards the bottom of our lineup.
9. 3B Liam Quinones - He is a 2077 and 2078 AL Hechler and Koch Award winner at 3B last season. He also hit .249 with 20 HRs.
If 2B Hardy can repeat his 47 HR performance, RF Campbell can repeat his 30 HRs, DH Schmidt his 24 HRs, backup 1B Lilly with his 26 HRs that will account for quite a few wins this season.
At some point, we should see OF Tom Sears in the Majors. He hit .248 with 37 HRs in AAA last season.
Backup CF Xue-Liang Chin makes his ML debut this year as he hit .247 and had 13 HRs last season. He is still young at 21 and his HR Power continues to develop.
