That's your priority here?

You don't care that Biden left a bunch of Americans without protection, just focused on Trump here?
Maybe try and read a little bit before you start ur gaslighting?

From what's been put out there the expectations were the afghans were thought to be able to easily control the country for at least a year before the Taliban could mount a threat. But now obviously that was the wrong take as the Taliban was in it's strongest position since 2001 due to the troop drawn downs and decisions made by republican and democrat administrations ..... So now thousands more troops being deployed to a neverending conflict. Yippie

Oh, well that makes it totally ok that we stranded a bunch of Americans in Afghanistan.

Was that really your retort to me discussing the incompetence of the last couple of days?

Well when your expectations are to have 365 days before the country goes to shit and it only takes 90 there's gonna be some loose ends hanging out unprotected. I don't get why you can't grasp that? He's announced thousands more troops back on the ground to protect these "bunch" of Americans in danger what else do you expect to happen?

I call them American citizens, you call them loose ends.

No biggie, we just didn't tie up a few "loose ends"
Crowes wrote: Sun Aug 15, 2021 1:49 pm I don't get why you can't grasp that?
I grasp the incompetence and whiff there. What would make you think I don't grasp how clueless we were? We've been there 20 years, should have all this intelligence, and we STILL whiffed this badly. I 100% get that, not sure what you're missing here.
Crowes wrote: Sun Aug 15, 2021 1:49 pm He's announced thousands more troops back on the ground to protect these "bunch" of Americans in danger what else do you expect to happen?
I'd expect the Americans to never have been put in that position, which is only a pretty logical expectation.

I just think it's funny that I'm arguing how incompetent we are, and every reply you make confirms our incompetence, and you have zero self awareness to realize you are proving my points here.

Where was all this piss and vinegar back in April when it was announced all troops would be gone?

Easy to act all knowing and outraged when you know already how the story ends. 😂

You mean like when reporters repeatedly asked Biden about concerns over whether the Taliban would take over and Biden said there's no chance what we're seeing happen would happen? Is that what you mean?

I think youve pulled the trigger to early on ur usual bullcrap MO for arguments before it was necessary bud-ro lol Noone has said the Biden administration is in no way coming up short on incompetence about Afghanistan. My initial post in no way hinted at that. It actually reinforced it since Biden was following that great peace accord that led to the current shit show. ...

So when I said this, you could have just replied saying "I agree" and we would have been done a lot sooner.

Only problem with this thought process is that President Biden never had to go thru with that peace accord. He has routinely ripped up everything Trump did during his 4 years as President. Why would he stop with Afghanistan? This one falls directly at the commander in chiefs feet, he is the one that ultimately makes the decision. There was zero reason to pull out during the height of the fighting season, which usually starts around May. I believe Trump wanted to have our forces pulled out before May of this year if he was reelected. I'd have to research where he said that so don't take it as gospel just yet.

I wasn't a fan of the peace accord, but I also was not a fan of continued presence in Afghanistan. But I also knew that it would end this way. We have seen it over the last 20 years, whether it was Afghanistan or Iraq, the government forces were/are completely incapable of fighting without the air support of allied forces and the money that gets filtered to those governmental forces.

I think you'll see next week a huge exodus of Democrats getting behind President Biden to save face for the 2022 mid terms. Unfortunately, this will become political fodder and huge talking points. You'll have the whole GOP place blame at the current administration, and you'll have a handful of Democrats agreeing with them.

The US government can defeat any military force in the world, but what we can't do is defeat an enemy force that is emboldened by their ideology and their religious beliefs. Russia learned this first hand in the 80's, and now we have just learned this the hard way.

I would expect nothing less than our little ANTIFA member to place blame on Trump here.

There is plenty of blame to be placed here, from Bush's push into Iraq rather than focusing on Al Qaeda and Bin Laden, to Obama not declaring victory after the death of Bin Laden, to Trump continuing the status quo of keeping the fight there and now Biden actually giving a no later date of departure during the fighting season. Of all 4 named here, President Biden should have the best handle on the situation. He was a Senator during the Russian invasion and was Vice President for 8 years during this war.

Sooo how bad was the census data for republicans?

It just confirmed what had talked about in the past here that conservatives just don't have the numbers to compete on a national stage. One more presidential election is basically all they got left to be competitive.

Interesting tidbit I've seen 90% of the counties that lost population all vote red.....

Where do you think those people moved? It's not like they all died or moved out of the country (btw, only democrats on a large scale threaten to move out of the country). So if they didn't die or move out of the country, all they did was populate red cities most likely. So those smaller counties will still vote red and larger cities that vote red will still vote that way. Now if we were talking about a mass exodus of large liberal metropolitans moving to red cities then there would be reason to worry. But elections are all about getting people out to actually vote, if a republican can't energize the base and bring in the independents then we'll have democrats running the show, and vise versa for democrats getting their constituents out to vote. Probably why they want to keep the pandemic voting rules in place while calling republican lawmakers bills Jim Crow 2.0. If we don't have a pandemic then people should get to the ballot box and do their civic duty and vote. If people are sooooo lazy that they can't request an absentee voting ballot or get to the polls then they really don't have a leg to stand on what laws are passed (right or left).

Whoa, let's not pretend you can only pick one. It is absolutely Biden's fault. That doesn't mean Trump has zero responsibility in this, but this is a colossal fuck up for the history books for Biden and rightfully so.

Oh, you want photo ID to go with my "proof" of vaccination so I can fully participate in your society? Wonder if they'll require this at the polls in November? :D :D :D
