Also, in a press conference today, the White House lashed out at the Taliban today for not allowing safe passage to the airport for citizens.

At almost the same time, General Milley was giving a press conference in which he went on record stating the Taliban is not interfering with passage to the airport.

None of the people in charge know what's going on or are even communicating with each other.

General Milley was completely disingenuous when he stated they had no intelligence that the government would have fallen this quickly. In every war planning exercise there are best case and worst case scenarios, so I'm not sure how he could not have seen this outcome happening within 30 days. He saw how fast the Iraqi military laid down their arms when Daesh came thru, how he couldn't have even perceived this to happen in Afghanistan as well is just leading with blinders on.

All I can say is wow with that speech. Mr Biden says all you have to do is show a US passport and the Taliban will let people through, reporters who are on the ground are saying completely the opposite. People are too afraid even try to get through the checkpoints at this point. Another inaccuracy, he stated that the world stands behind him and his decision. You had Chancellor Markle the head of the UN and a couple other people pretty much say how he blew this one. Dude is completely delusional

Part 2 of contradictory reports from the White House and Pentagon...

Biden's press conference today, he talked about Americans not having a hard time getting to the Airport if needed.

Not long after, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said in a press conference of his own that Americans have been beaten by the Taliban in Kabul, according to multiple people on the call. Austin called it “unacceptable.”

US sends three CH-47's out less than a mile to get 169 Americans that couldn't get to the airport.

MSNBC just reported at 6:30 this morning that the US Embassy in Kabul sent out a message that no Americans should go to the Airport.

Ignorance at it's finest!

People don't choose to live anywhere. Their financial situation usually would dictate whether they can live anywhere else.

Quite simple to understand.

Poor people don't have the opportunity to move out of their crime ridden area and into neighborhoods that provide better schooling for their children. It's an endless cycle. North Omaha is a prime example of this. The vast majority of all violent crime happens in this area. The amount of people who live below the poverty line is staggering. Do you think they want to live there? They can't afford to leave

Watching the Pentagon briefing and all I can say is WOW! Politicians at the finest here without being able to answer a question.

I don't understand at all why Kirby can't say how many Americans have been evacuated right now. He keeps stating that the numbers change hour by hour, which is completely understandable. This is where the reporters should get out ahead of this answer and say that they will ask this question again tomorrow and that the American people want to know the answer. Ask him to give a number as of noon today of how many were evacuated, that gives them 24 hours to compile those numbers by tomorrows brief. He also states that he cannot give a number of how many Americans are in country because not everyone self reported about going to Afghanistan. Once again, reporters can get out ahead of that answer by asking, "of all the self reported Americans in country, how many still remain."

So the Taliban has refused to "allow" American to extend past the 8/31 deadline.

The military has also told Biden they need to know by today if he is or isn't going to extend the deadline because if he won't, they need 1 week to get all troops and equipment remaining out.

So basically we will find out today if Biden is going to allow the Taliban to call the shots and dictate when we leave since Biden has already stated we will stay as long as we need to to get everyone out safely.
