What the hell is going on in A ball? I have a guy who has 40 contact and 49 power and is hitting .320 with 34HR's.

Seems like a lot of inflated hitting stats down there

he's a 40 rated player with 40 contact and 49 power. I don't look at age, I look at overall/potential for their level. I don't buy into the 24 year old 20/20 guy should be playing AAA ball, he's a R-A ball player at best

Oh ya I'm not really knocking where you're putting him. But this is like putting a MLB player into AA. He's gonna crush it. This dude is fodder so it doesn't matter but I don't think it speaks to inflated minors numbers. However, numbers are trending up and like Corey said I think it's the park. I'll have a Winter Meeting topic to normalize minor league parks this offseason to curb some of this silliness.

with a 50's OPS+. No thank you. I'd rather have a guy with 5ZR and an OPS+ of 100. Defense is great and all but if he's a complete liability at the plate he isn't worth it to me. I don't like giving up potential runs and his defense isn't saving enough runs that he could potentially produce.

Defense is underrated- especially from a cost/ performance standpoint.

I got this guy for free on a minor league deal and hes about to put up 4 war
