I find that I like Americas bastardization of Mexican food better than authentic Mexican. I need that sour cream

not at all! There are so many little mom and pop jalisco's in San Antonio that if you can't find yourself a great taco for a cheap price you are just lazy. Now if it's midnight and you ask your uber driver to go thru taco bell after a night of drinking then I think you should get a pass.

Thoughts on Whataburger? Whenever I'm in Tulsa for Nationals, there is one right across the street from the fairgrounds and I'm there at least 3 times in a 5 day period, and I love it every time.

Whataburger is great but there are so many other burger options they are a once in a while for me.Whittness10 wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 4:54 pm Thoughts on Whataburger? Can’t beat that patty melt and for breakfast the jalapeño cheddar biscuit with sausage and a taquito though. Damn.

love Whataburger....at least I used to, haven't had it in almost 20 years. As far as a fast food burger I thought they had the best with Wendy's right behind them.

If people intend to do harm, they will gain access to a gun whether the laws are tough or not.

Re: Random Discussions
I don't pretend to have the answers to this, but really the only common link is our lax gun laws compared to other countries.Whittness10 wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 5:30 am If people intend to do harm, they will gain access to a gun whether the laws are tough or not.
Every other country has mental illness. Every other country has racism. Every other country has violent video games. Every other country has poverty.
No other country has the amount of mass shootings we do. No other developed country has gun laws as relaxed as we do.
Again, how we fix it I have no idea. But I also have no idea why we pretend we don't know why it only happens this bad in America. We know exactly why. And fwiw, it's the culture that has been created around guns based on those relaxed gun laws. Meaning, we can ban guns or make the laws more strict but it won't change the culture around it.

Re: Random Discussions
not deflecting at all. But, our schools need to take a lead role in this as well. My son's school in Colorado had only one way in when school was in session. You had to ring the bell and they had to buzz you in. They could see you as well with their cameras. This is one way we can help protect our kids. This didn't protect the kids at Sandy Hook though as they had that system in place, the shooter's mom worked at that school and that is why he was able to gain access.

Re: Random Discussions
ah, the ol "if we ban guns, theyll get guns" argument.. Weird how that only applies to the US and no other developed country with gun laws / low mass shooting numbers.
How do we do it?
How do we do it?
Re: Random Discussions

Re: Random Discussions
Australia banned guns in I think 1996. Gun deaths didn't go down any more than other developed countries. Pretty much all other violent crimes did go up.
Restricting guns won't fix this specific issue, I don't think anything will to be honest.
Re: Random Discussions
Australia had like 200ish gun deaths last yr.. let's assume 1 person per death (maybe more who knows).. thats 1ish gun death per 1.5ish days.. .. That seems acceptable, no?
