I'm not sure what you're good friend is looking for, but isn't the obvious answer the length at which the kicker's efforts fall short of the field goal crossbar, thus resulting in the other team having great field position?

Well, since I'm not a member at the current I asked beefy to ask for myself cause I didn't know if I could continue to post, but heck with it...

for the sake of this thread for instance, Beefy and I have played some 40x since the game came out and Houston's kicker couldn't make a 40yd kick in real life, much less from 55.

I won't attempt anything beyond 55 cause I don't think it's realistic (if you can call 55 real). EA can't get this straightened out along with sacks. I'm sacked nearly 8 times every single game and it's getting too much.

I play some of the straightest cats around in Beefy, Doc and texasfan and love this game, but was just wondering about FG distance in this case.

Thanks,
Gary

I tend to stop around 55, but even than I wouldn't try it. If someone has the skills and power leg to kick it, more power to him. I would also call the NDL Drug testing comittee to check his leg for steroids!

You to tell you the truth this is just another on of those gray areas that people should not get pissed about.

I get pissed about little stuff like this and it causes me to not have fun. When I play games I find myself worrying to much about what the other guy thinks about my game play.

Fuck it ....follow the rules that are given to us and have fun.

i always try to find a number that my kicker can always make it, so then i won't try it anymore. Unfortunately it may not be exactly realistic, but neither are late pitches so I think it all evens out

My kicker for Nevada can get it from 57. so if I am on the 40- bring out the kicker....the situation has not presented itself to kick 58,59 or 60. But I have NO PROBLEM with someone lining up for a 60 yarder, if they think they can make it....more power to you.

why would this even be an issue. If I punt at the 20,30,40 who cares you get the ball no matter what. If I try and kick a FG from anywhere it is either my benefit or yours. If it is too far and I miss it I should have punted. Who cares.

Kick if you think you can make it if not punt it. or heck go for it

8 Sacks???? Damn I need to start playing you. I got 5 in my first two games. I don't know how these guys get so many sacks. Maybe I don't know how to kick or something, but I know Auburn's kicker can't come close to making a 55 yarder for me in the game. Hell I barely KO inside the 10 with this guy.

I like the way you think Doley! You get my vote! This would change the way many played if they just followed this simple advice.

for me, with temple, too far is probably from 48 yards and beyond.

as far as everyone else goes, whatever is in the realm of their particular kicker. if they can make it from 60 then attempt it.

Yep.

I just HATE seeing the level of complaining and seriousness that the members of this league are gravitating towards.

It's a game, have fun with it. It's obviously when guys are constantly doing stuff they shouldn't be doing.

I just think a LOT of people play this game with the INTENT of trying to find a flaw in the other person's game, and that goes against what we stand for in the NDL.

Let's just ligten and play some ball!!!

Oh, and kick field goals, i dont care if it's from 70 yards. If your kicker can do it, do it.

Exactly....if I am drafting a team I see if the K is solid as well, hes a part of the team and is a weapon use it. EA should just do something the further you are the harder it is to stop the meter or something in the future.

While were on the subject though if your controlling your FS or SS please dont line him up where the LB's are...or if your controlling the MLB please dont back him up to 6 and a half yards...when they play 4 off in real life. Thanks.

Love,

Patrick

1. EA should go back to the tri-click. That was cool and realistic IIRC. The analog is really hard to miss a FG inside 50. Ridiculous.

2. I agree ont eh controlling the safeties thing when guys do it manually. But there are some blitzes where the safeties will walk up to where the LBs on there own, not with any adjustments. That is COMPLETELy different than manually walking a guy up, considering I wouldnt even know how to make that safety that walked up on his own go back to his position, lol.
