I see trendons point, and see why he feels this should be taking seriously.

While yes the polls dont have a huge signafiance on the season till late in year...
And that is why some may not take voting seriously when they do vote.

Hell to some degree I dont place a huge barrier on current rankings cause out the end of season I start from scratch since now all games are played and I can better compare teams.

But in that same breath I take the votes I do during the season important as well.
Reason being voting does have a impact, they have impact on season sucess, bonus points are handing out for such things as beating ranked teams, when unranked / ranked etc.

And you know you could help a coach who should be ranked at certain time of the season feel a little better about his recent luck.. but making sure he take the time vote seriously and noticeing how that team is having a good season.. maybe they deserve those points that team a or b is getting that has no businness there.. helping them grab a 20-25 ranking for just a week or so.

Yes while NCAA is just a game, and should not be taken too seriously, we all love the realism this league try to replicate, one of the things that makes it so great, Hell we have massey rankings, so lets take that thought and vision seriously, I feel as members we have that responsiblity.
