2+ Championships:
Cincinnati - 7
Port Orange - 4
Chicago LOL - 3
Washington - 2
Philly - 2
Albany - 2
New York - 2
(sorry Cookeville/OCD, you get no love!)
Winning 2 separates the men from the boys!

I went 4 seasons without a championship, from 25-28. I also didn't win my first until my 6th season.

I'm sticking by that reign's time at the top is over, he's reached has-been status.

Re: 2040 Season Thread-Feeling Crabby?
I'm laying in the bed that I made right now, so to speak.
Trading away Robbins to Boston and having Thunder and Lightning reunited means a devastating 1-2 combination. Sure, it creates a potential short term window for Boston, but they are doing everything that they should right now and taking advantage of it.
Right now, the pressure is fully on Boston to perform. Cincinnati may not be what we once were, but there is enough talent in the organization to be a playoff contender for the next 10 seasons. On the other hand, if Boston doesn't seal the deal this year or next, Boston is going to have some big decisions to make in terms of an aging rosters and contract extensions. They've already committed big money to Calvin Jamison (20m+ per). Will they do the same for Robbins? If they don't, can they move them for value?
A big reason I think I've stayed good for so long is that I've consistently made calculated risks of hurting my chances in the short-term to obtain long-term value. In this scenario, it's probably hurt me a lot more in the short-term than it has in the past.

Re: 2040 Season Thread-Feeling Crabby?
don't think I didn't notice last sim/report that Esparza got the kiss of death. he lost velocity. His decline could be swift and immediate or it could prolong for a season or 2 with him still being great. However he will not be a Lehman-type guy.
Re: 2040 Season Thread-Feeling Crabby?
Oh you'll have it 1 way or another. I'm gonna call your wife and tell her to buy it for you, if that doesn't work I will just give you a copy.ReignOnU wrote:

All in good fun Dave, you'll get the last laugh when I've got a chance to overtake Port Orange in the final sim and get swept by Omahahaha

Yup, we are all in right now for hopefully 2-4 seasons depending on how father time works for my stars like Jamison, Robbins, and Castaneda.ReignOnU wrote:Right now, the pressure is fully on Boston to perform.
Minors is non-existent but we have a great combination of young studs all within 24-28 years old like Turner, Patterson, Pugh and Washington to go with those aging vets.
I think we stay relevant for beyond the 2-4 seasons but obviously our best time to win one is this season.
Guys I traded like Kyle Lee, John Robinson, and Ackerman would have been the Cincy thing to do and let them develop but I struck while I had my prospects in their prime, got some big named veterans, and we are going for it.
Now to see if we are a Sheltown or a Miami.

I'm really hoping for a super draft next season. Could use some more guys in my minors

I see you Miggy, I see you!!
I thought his run at 10+ WAR seasons was over, but he's at 8.5 now. Miggy goes hard!!!
Probably my all time favorite OOTPer.

I'm hoping for 2-3 elite level 80 potential guys, then a huge drop off.GeorgesGoons wrote:Cnasty wrote:Minors is non-existent but we have a great combination of young studs all within 24-28 years old like Turner, Patterson, Pugh and Washington to go with those aging vets..ReignOnU wrote:Right now, the pressure is fully on Boston to perform.
