I actually think only Ponder is a given and Reed, Reid and Bradham for the last two spots.fsupenguin wrote:I this Ponder and Reid are spot on, but not sure about the 3rd. Perhaps Bert Reed over Bradham.

Re: Impact Players
just got very excited seeing Vareen's name up there as I think he'll be a huge performer next year.
I would guess Gilbert would be one for glamour reasons, and I think Dareus deserves being one after that NC performance

Re: Impact Players
I think you are right on with these picks. It just depends if they favor the offense or defense more in the ratings. I think the D will be the strength of the team. NT Chris Neild, DE Scooter Berry, and OLB J.T. Thomas are very good as well and could easily be impact. WR Jock Sanders and WR Tavon Austin could be impact on offense. WVU has the market cornered on fast smurfs on offense.ChampDizzle wrote:Gonna take a guess on what they could be....
West Virginia:
RB Noel Devine LB Pat Lazear S Robert Sands

i'd agree with Martin and Roundtree, but the 3rd could be any number of people.
Forcier - awesome start to the year then got hurt so you never know
Robinson - should be like 94 speed and is a human highlight reel
Odoms - solid WR since he's stepped on campus, gets hurt alot though
Craig Roh - awesome as a frosh starting on that D.
who knows, they might even have darryl stonum as the third because hes the biggest deep threat Mich has.
i dont think its as close as people are being led on. i keep going back to it, but it cant be forgotten how well TF played before he got hurt. you also cant put much into the spring game. Michigans starting D was terrible. so the fact that Robinson moved the ball @ will against the 2's isnt really all that impressive. Forcier took a bunch of true freshman wrs and the 2nd or 3rd team line against the ones, and scored twice.
really dont see kovacs, solid player but hardly impact type. and unless robinson got exponentially better i cant see him winning the job. he couldnt make a throw past 10 yards last year.

Re: Impact Players
The first two are no brainers. Replogle could get it on D but either his little brother Adam or Larry Black Jr. (both sophomore DT's who had very good freshman seasons) could get it as well.ChampDizzle wrote: Indiana:

Id say Forcier n Stonum instead of Roundtree n Kovacas

Re: Impact Players
Anderson for sure. I would almost say Johnny Patrick is a certain for impact though at CB. The 3rd is either one of two you named, or a WR we have Doug Beaumont.ChampDizzle wrote:Louisville:

Re: Impact Players
I'm loving the lack of potential Impact QBs by many elite programs. I think this is going to be the kind of season where we see a TON of parity in the league.

Re: Impact Players
Remember when impact players meant something? Nothing like seeing your HB or WR pulsating and knowing he was going to do something crazy.

Re: Impact Players
The first year was absolutely ridiculous.
RBs were like Bo in Tecmo in the open field.
You saw a guy coming one on one and you knew he was going to be tackled. I remember always having to dive to make a tackle. That was like one of the only ways to stop them.
