I'm sorry??

Whatever. You aren't "sorry". What you're sorry about his Steam got upset about it, which 118 other guys would've too.

You offered a rematch? LMAO! If you're sorry, give him the WIN...not a rematch. According to you, he would've won anyway if you wouldn't have done it because you couldn't stop him.
what does this even mean? are you taking a jab at me and my gameplay? cause i mean it was 28-28 and a very good game up until i decided to risk it, fake a fg and then drop killing clock. Its strategy. But because I did this I wasted a dudes hour and he wouldn't do it again?

what exactly are you saying by this Plasma?
If you are "sorry" as you say...why are you trying to defend it? calling it strategy? Strategy my ass...straight cheese in the NDL book. I think this falls under the category of "winning at all costs". Weren't you a "probation" or whatever for your coaches reports a few seasons ago? Maybe a trip back to the farm is in your future...If not, it should be.

I got sent back for falling a sleep...now that, I can say I was sorry..it was an accident. You blantantly and purposely did this and then afterwards wanna post "I'm sorry". WTF Nick?

Some things that are done can fall under the "grey" area...this? not even close. This is the NDL, the league of all online leagues..and this should NEVER happen.

Sorry just my opinion...

It really does come down to a "winning at all costs" kinda thing. That said I hate the Ice the Kicker crap in this game, I cant hit one of those if its straight down the pipe from 10 yards out. I wouldnt call that feature "sim" either? Meh, I dont really have an opinion even though watching players dive to avoid scoring always rubs me the wrong way. I will say that Nick has balls that go CLANK to run that play since those fake FG's are hardly reliable in any situation....

If you're wanting to run time or force him to use TO's why not kneel on the ball a couple times? Unless you were already at the edge of your FG range this would do the same thing as what you did and I've seen it happen many times in real life football. Doing this resolves both of your issues; being sim and running time off at the end of the game.

Ice the kicker is back in this game? Wow, did not know that.

As for this post, Nick you should have just ran it in. We are supposed to pride ourselves on trying to play as realistic as possible. I can understand the fake since you were the away team and you were worried that he would be able to move the ball quick enough to win the game so I'm not knocking the fake, I actually think it takes big balls to call it.

I know I would have given a 2 or 3 on the coach report for that play alone and I'm pretty generous when it comes to coaches reports, I dont see a reason to give less than 5's unless there are a 3 or more questionable plays.

I'm curious as to how Steam feels about this, from his post game recap he sounds about like he wasnt too pleased. It sucks that one game alone will put you in a bad light with other owners that has never played you. I dont think I would schedule someone that would resort to that kind of crap at the end of the game to ensure that they win.

Just my two pennies and I'm sure it means nothing to most.

All I can say is just take your coaches report score and move on. Its a live and learn thing. IMO, that was not SIM football, that was East room. best thing is, you know what ya did and can correct it.

Eh, who knows.

wouldnt that be the point of running the fake FG? to make it look like you are kicking a FG

like running a PA after setting up the run.

i think i'd be more pissed if someone ran a fake FG outside of FG range. now THATS unrealistic.
That's lame and you know it. Fake FG, in FG range, tie ball game, 4th QT, 4th down, complete pass only to run around the field to waste time? I know Nick's a friend, but that play cant be rationalized positively. Nick fessed up after he got called out which is a good thing, hope he takes what is said and fixes what he needs to fix.

Couple things. And this is for everyone, not just Nick and Steam....its also NOT personal cause I happen to like both guys.

1. I'm over guys saying they dont care about wins and then running a play like this, OR icing the kicker.

2. Kick the FG and take your chances on defense, if he beats you he beats you...who fucking cares

3. IF, you run this play, you better score on me....then the worst that can happen is he can tie you.

4. Lets refrain from posting these gripes on LD in the future. Go to your commish and then me and it WILL be handled.

5. Take this with a grain of salt, but here is what I would have done verse Steam.....if he was good enough to stop me from getting a 1st, I would take my medicine and then tried to stop his offense. I probably would have failed, but thats my own fault for not getting a 1st.

6. How the hell did that reciever get so far down field in .5 seconds?

7. If before you run a play even a sliver of a thought enters your mind that your opponent/ the league wont like this.....dont do it

8. WTF

If that was a straight pass and you ran around and killed some clock before SCORING, I would have no problem with it. Hell, Stokley did it this year in that crazy Bengals game and it was good strategy.

But being a tie ball game, on a fake FG, I just wouldnt do it.

Take your lumps Nick and move on, no big thing because I know you play straight other than that. I would be a lot more pissed at some one that used the cheesy ass game plan shit all game,PA all game, and did other shit.

Dont get worked up over shit like this, its a game people. Take your bad coaches report, you learn, now move on.

The fake doesnt bother me, thats coaching. Not scoring and stopping at the goaline is something one does to rub salt in a wound

 this is some good stuff..I just have a few things to say and its nothing personal at all...Im not pissed, wasnt happy at the time but ill get to that in a sec..
-Thanks AJ and team for the letting this thread stay alive(might not have happened in years past.we are all grown men)...Im not mad and like hearing the debate..because i feel its debatable, Im one of the most laid back guys in the league when it comes to gameplay and coaches reports..

As for the Situation
-I like others..can accept the Fake FG call in the first place..Its boaderline to do in that situation with the game on the line IMO(totally fine if it were earlier in the game)..I say boaderline because the AI on FG's is a little messed.(even on FG Block there shouldnt be 11 guys going in and 0 back). The fact that ask corso comes up everytime on 4th and u have to back out to get to FG man/zone is reason enough for me not to beat someone on that play..but i can totally accept that and chalk it up to a ballsy call...A learning experience for me..

-I do have a little more of problem with the intentionally not scoring in the wide open field after a fake fg only to Kick another FG. Heres why:

1. Why not score-worst case senario is that I tie up the game in the last 40+ seconds with 1 timeout- not too respectful or fun for your opponent. I had the ball 8 times-4td's . 1 int, 2punts, and one turnover on downs after two plays from the 1. NOT like you never stopped me.

2. Sim? would anyone pull a fake FG to kick another FG when they had an easy TD? You had the ball from the 4min mark in the 4th quarter and you were Iced because you were already milking the clock and I HAD to use my timeouts, you had ran the ball 3 straight times. NOT because I was trying to Ice you that was the second timeout i had to use.

3. Winning at all costs.. It definately came across this way...IMO This is just compounded by the fact that you play with your season showdown OFF. Not accussing you at all but it comes across as trying to hide what your doing, whether you are or you arent. If your honest and dont care about winning then turn Season Showdown ON and dont hide anything(this is a message for all)

HAHA funny shit HOOS....that part really doesnt and didnt bother me...I can chalk that up to my bad..u can bet ill be patrolling the secondary on EVERY FG attempt...

One more thing
I apologize if my recap on LD came across as a complaint..I was just summing up what happend. Sorry if It came across bitchy, i didnt mean it that way.
Nick, Im one of a handful of guys who will still give you good coaches reports after this, so no worries. I can take a loss...no worries I honestly dont care. Thats why i didnt need to replay the game.

As for being sorry-
-The fact that you are sorry should tell you enough..bottom line
-If you really are sorry, dont wait until after the game, all the game and player stats have been entered, and offer to replay, after I mention that I didnt apreciate it..Your intiall response was GG.

Ok ive said my peace..Im done..its water under the bridge at this point for me, just wanted to post my opinion

Disagree Steam with your coaches report take. Its your coaches report, but if you have a problem, and it seems you do as you stated you didnt feel it was realistic, then mark it how it should be based on what you said. Dont give a guy 4's or 5's if he didnt deserve 4's or 5's, that is not the right thing to do IMO. In no way am I telling you how to vote, I cant stress that enough, but coaches reports dont work if we dont use them when we have gripes about gameplay, playcalling, rule following, etc...
BTW, I do disagree with AJ here. ICE the kicker is not a good thing, another gimmick that needs to go, but steam has to be able to use his time-outs to stop the clock. It seems like it wasnt a last second time-out to strictly ice the kicker but to save clock for a tying score.

Just curious...why is ice the kicker bad? It does not even work.

The larger problem is not ice the kicker its that kicking is so freaking easy it needs to be completely retooled.

Other than that ballsy call going for a fake fg...id be pissed at first but quickly realize it was a helluva call and quite gutsy but running around and not scoring the td in that exact situation is completely uncalled for and should be addressed in the report.

if ice the kicker doesnt work, then why do it? if you truly dont care about winning, then why do it?

its a gimmick like all the rest of them
